y <br />WHEREAS, on December 1, 1984, the exchange of services <br />provided for by said Agreement began, following final State <br />certification of the Gates Mills jail facility; and <br />WHEREAS, said Agreement has been continued on a month- <br />to-month basis, with the consent and approval of both munici- <br />palities, until such time as a permanent and continuing agreement <br />could be formalized; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayors and Councils of the respective munici- <br />palities have now reached agreement on the terms and provisions <br />of such a permanent and continuing agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE <br />OF GATES MILLS, STATE OF OHIO, that; <br />Section 1: The Mayor and Clerk of this Village be and <br />they hereby are authorized and instructed to enter into a contract <br />on behalf of this Village with the Village of Mayfield, Ohio, <br />to provide for the exchange of theservices of the existing Gates <br />Mills jail facilities for the use of the Mayfield Village ambulance <br />and emergency medical service, upon the terms and provisions <br />of the written Agreement submitted to this Council therefor, <br />which is hereby approved. ' <br />Se,ction 2: This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency Ordinance necessary for the immediate preservation <br />of the public health, safety, convenience and welfare for reasons <br />apparent fr4m the contents of said Ordinance, and, therefore, <br />this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after <br />the earliest period provided by law. , . <br />Passed the 12th day.of May, 1986. <br />/s/ John S.
