Ar?RF.F.MF.NT WHEREAS, Mayfield Village and the Village of Gates Mills are both municipal corporations established pursuant to the Constitution and laws of the State of Ohio; and WHEREAS, Section 734.04 of the Ohio Revised Code pravides that municipal corporations may contract with each other for the interchange of police sezv ices or equipment; and WHEREAS, Section 9.60 of the Ohio Revised Code provides that municipal corporations may contract with each other for the interchange of fire protection services, including but not limited to ambulance and emergency medical service; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of A'iayfield Village have determined that it is in the best interests of the municipality to contract with the Village of Gates Mi11s for the imprisonment, maintenance, and feeding of Mayfield Village prisoners; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Village of Gates Mills have determined that it is in the best interests of the municipality to contract with Mayfield Village for ambulance and emergency medical services; and WHEREAS, the Mayors and Councils of the respective munici- palities have determined that the exchange of services, as aforesaid, constitutes a fair and equal exchange of sezvices; and WHEREAS, the Mayors and Councils of the respective munici- palities have further determined that the interchange of the aforementioned services will operate in the best interests of the health, safety and welfare of the residents of each municipality; and WHEREAS, the Mayors and Councils of the respective munici- palities have implemented the aforementioned exchange of services on a trial basis for a period of six (6) months from and after the date on which the jail facility of the Village of Gates Mills was certified by the State of Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, pursuant to a written Agreement between said municipalities dated May 21, 1984; and
