ORDINANCE N0. 86-15 <br />Page -3- <br />Council elections shall be for a term of four <br />(4) years. <br />If the Council is increased in number to seven (7) <br />persons at the November, 1986 election, all of <br />whom are to be elected at-large and serve for a <br />term of two (2) years, then all members of Council <br />in office at the time of the General Election to <br />be held in the municipality in November, 1987 <br />shall serve until December 31, 1987 at which time <br />their term of office shall be deemed terminated. <br />At the General Election to be held in November, 1987 <br />the four (4) candidates polling the highest number <br />of votes shall be elected for a term of two (2) <br />years and the candidates polling the next three <br />(3) highest number of votes shall be elected for <br />a term of one (1) year. Thereafter, all municipal <br />Council elections shal be for a term of two (2) <br />years. <br />If, at the November, 1986 election, the Council <br />remains in number at five (5) with four (4) <br />members being elected from wards and the fifth <br />(5th) member being elected at-large, but the <br />term of Council is reduced from four (4) to <br />two (2) years, then all members of Council in <br />office at the time of the General Election to be <br />held in the municipality November, 1987, shall <br />serve until December 31, 1987 at which time <br />their term of office shall be deemed terminated. <br />At the General Election to be held in November, <br />1987 the Councilmembers for Wards 1 and 3 shall <br />serve for a term of two (2) years and the <br />Councilmembers from Wards 2 and 4 and the <br />Councilmember elected at-large shall serve for <br />a term of one (1) year. A candidate from each <br />ward polling the greatest number of votes shall <br />be elected as Councilman from that ward. The <br />candidate for Council at-large polling the <br />highest number of votes shall be elected to that <br />term of office. Thereafter, all municipal Council <br />elections shall be for a term of two (2) years.s <br />In the event that either ballot questions (A) or (B) shall <br />be adopted by the electorate, then Section 3 of Article III <br />of the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, pertaining to <br />Elections shall be repealed in its entirety. <br />C. Shall Section 4 of Article III of the Charter of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, be amended by deleting the current <br />Section in its entirety and substituting theref or the <br />following wordings <br />
