M.V. ORDINANCE N0. 86-15 <br />Page -6- <br />that Council seat at the last regular municipal election, <br />then the vacancy shall be filled by a majority vote of <br />all of the remaining members of the Council; and if the <br />vacancy shall not be so filled within thirty (30) days, <br />the Mayor shall fill it by appointment. Each member <br />of Council to fill a vacancy as provided herein shall <br />hold office for the balance of the unexpired term or <br />until the beginning of the term of a successor elected <br />for the unexpired term as hereinafter provided. A <br />successor shall be elected for the unexpired term at <br />the next regular municipal election if (a) such election <br />shall occur more than two (2) years prior to the <br />expiration of the unexpired term and (b) the vacancy <br />shall have occurred more than one hundred twenty (120) <br />days prior to such election." <br />The question to appear on the ballot shall be as follows: <br />(E) Shall the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio <br />be amended so that a vacancy on Council is <br />filled by the person who polled the next <br />highest number of votes at the last regular <br />municipal election for that seat on Council <br />except that if no qualified person from that <br />list of candidates accepts the position then <br />the vacancy shall be filled by a majority <br />vote of all remaining members of the Council? <br />F. Shall Section 1 of Article IV of the Charter of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, be amended by deleting the current Section <br />in its entirety and substituting therefor the following <br />wording: <br />"The Mayor shall be elected for a term of two (2) <br />years commencing on the first day of January next <br />following such election, and shall serve until his <br />successor is duly elected and qualified." <br />The question to appear on the ballot shall be as follows: <br />(F) Shall the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio <br />be amended to reduce the term of office for <br />Mayor from four (4) years to two (2) years? <br />G. Shall Section 2 of Article IV of the Charter of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, be amended by deleting the current Section <br />in its entirety and substituting theref or the following <br />wording: <br />"The Mayor shall have physically resided and been <br />
