ORDINANCE N0. 86-15 <br />Page -7- <br />a qualified elector of the Municipality for at <br />least three (3) continuous years immediately <br />~~~ preceding his election and shall continue to physically <br />reside in and be a qualified elector of the Municipality <br />throughout his term of office. The Mayor shall not <br />hold any other elected public office or other employment, <br />with Mayfield Village, but may be a Notary Public, a <br />member of the State Militia or Reserve Corp of the <br />United States, unless otherwise prohibited by this <br />Charter.°' <br />The question to appear on the ballot shall be as follows: <br />(G) Shall the Charter of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />be amended so as to require that the Mayor <br />physically reside within the Municipality <br />for at least three (3) continuous years <br />immediately preceding his election and <br />furthermore prohibiting the Mayor from holding <br />other employment with Mayfield Village but <br />be permitted to hold other public employment? <br />H. Shall Section 5 (A) of Article IV of the Charter of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, be amended by deleting the current Section <br />in its entirety and substituting therefor the following <br />wording: <br />"The Mayor shall be the chief executive officer of <br />the Municipality. Except as may otherwise be <br />provided in this Charter, he shall (1) supervise <br />the administration of the Municipality's affairs; <br />(2) except for committees of Council, appoint such <br />Committees and their chairman as he deems necessary, <br />subject to confirmation by a majority vote of the <br />members of Council, and exercise control over all <br />committees and departments of the Municipality, <br />except Council .and Committees thereofo (3) be the <br />chief conservator of the peace within the Municipality <br />and cause all laws and ordinances to be in force <br />therein; (4) see that all terms and conditions imposed <br />in favor of the Municipality or its inhabitants in <br />any franchise or contract to which the Municipality <br />is a party are faithfully kept and performed; (5) <br />recommend to Council such measures as he deems <br />necessary or appropriate for the welfare of the <br />Municipality and keep Council advised of the condition <br />and future of the Municipality; (6) act as the <br />official and ceremonial head of the Municipal <br />government; (7) execute on behalf of the Municipality, <br />along with the President of Council, all contracts, <br />conveyances, evidences of indebtedness and all other <br />instruments to which the Municipality is a party; <br />
