RDHC 1567.03 SIZE AND SPACING OF STUDS. (Amended) Studs that support only a ceiling or roof may be 2 x 4s, spaced 16 inches o.c. For the support of one or two floors, use 2 x 4 studs on 16 inch centers. Where studs support more than two floors, use 2 x 6s spaced 16 inches o.c., unless otherwise stipulated by the Building Official. RDHC 1567.11 PLYWOOD WALL SHEATHING. (Amended) (a) TYPE AND THICKNESS. In compliance with Section 1545.08, one-half inch plywood wall sheathing shall be used with studs 16 inches o.c. The fastening of exterior covering to plywood sheathing shall consist of angularly-threaded nails or other nails acceptable to the Building Official. This Section does not require corner braces when plywood wall sheathing is used.
