The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to <br />either mail a copy of the full text of the proposed Charter amendment at <br />least thirty (30) day prior to the date of the election as set forth in this <br />Ordinance to each elector of the municipality whose name appears upon the <br />registration books for the last regular election held in the municipality or <br />shall cause the full text of the proposed Charter Amendment to be published <br />once a week for not less than two (2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper of <br />general circulation in the municipality with the first publication being at <br />least fifteen (15) days prior to the election. <br />SECTION 5. All prior ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance in <br />whole or in part are hereby repealed to the extent necessary to avoid conflict <br />with this Ordinance. <br />SECTION 6. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio-Revised Code. <br />SECTION 7. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare <br />of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason that the proposed <br />Charter Amendment presented herein must be timely filed with the Board of <br />Elections in accordance with current Ohio law in order to allow the electorate <br />the opportunity to vote thereon.
