Reserve Hall for the performing arts is located in the Civic Center and is the site of various
theatrical performances, musical concerts, art exhibitions, seminars, and conferences. 36
performances are held at Reserve Hall each year with an average of 100 to 150 attendees per
performance.
• Local citizen group meetings, including:
o Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts
o Mayfield Township Historical Society
o Mayfield Village Garden Club
o Village Quitters
o Alcoholic's and Gambler's Anonymous
• Red Cross blood drives
• Cuyahoga County Board of Health vaccination clinics
• One Chagrin River Watershed Partners, Inc. (CRWP) Board of Trustees meeting annually
It is important to note that although the.primary goal of this project is duce stormwater runoff and
improve water quality; an additional goal is to delineate a distinct vehicle traffic flow to improve the safe y
o~motorists and pedestrians. This project assists in the Village's continued effort to improve pedestrian
accessibility throughout the community by establishing pedestrian greenways and trails. A designated
crosswalk in a varied pavement color will be installed in the new driveway (Figure 5) to allow for future
connectivity to the Village's trail system. The Village considered a treatment train design to include a
bioretention cell but it was determined that it would not provide additional treatment and storage than what
the permeable pavement will provide.
oject Partner:
~yfield Village will artner with CRWP on this project. CRWP will provide input on project design and
cons ruction, and will assist the Village with the a uca i nand outreach activities for this project. If
applicable, CRWP will advise the Village on permeable pavement and bioretention designs that would
allow monitoring of stormwater flows in the future. To ensure that the flow from these systems can be
accurately measured and modeled the following modifications may be recommended: a larger catch
basin, installation of monitoring wells, and design that allows at least 3-6 inches of elevation difference at
the outfall.
Outreach and Education:
Mayfield Village will collaborate with CRWP to complete public outreach and education for this project,
including the following:
• Sign at the parking lot retrofit site to educate Civic Center visitors and the public about the installed
permeable pavement and its impact to manage stormwater and improve Beecher's Brook. The
sign will contain a Quic~ k Res op nse Code that visitors can scan with their smartphones to access
more information about the project on the Village's website.
• Factsheet detailing the retrofit project printed for distribution at the Civic Center and posted on the
~'iifaJge dna CRWP websites.
• The Village will highlight the project on its website and Facebook page.
4 ~ p a-g e-
