ORDINANCE N0.2004-07 PAGE 5 <br />(d) All employees who are summoned to jury duty in the municipal, county or federal <br />court system must advise their chief and or director, immediately upon receiving same. If the <br />employee is scheduled to work during said scheduled jury duty, the employee will be paid his <br />regular compensation for that time period. The employee will then reimburse the Village one <br />hundred percent of all funds received from the court for said jury duty. An employee who <br />finishes his jury duty early during the course of his shift, should report for duty for the balance <br />of his regular shift. Similarly, an employee will work as much as his or her shift as possible <br />before reporting for jury duty taking into account reasonable travel time. <br />153.08 UNIFORM ALLOWANCE. <br />(a) Uniform items for Police Department employees shall conform to the specifications <br />required by the Department's Manual of Rules and Regulations, subject to the approval of the <br />Chief of Police. All items purchased by the Municipality shall be and remain the property of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio. <br />(b) The Chief of Police will receive a uniform allowance equivalent to the uniform <br />allowance provided for the rank of Lieutenant for the corresponding year per the contract <br />between the Village and the F.O.P. In addition, the Police Chief will entitled to same stipend as <br />F.O.P. members for Firearms Proficiency and B.AC. certification. <br />(c) The Chief of Fire will receive a uniform allowance equivalent to the uniform <br />allowance provided for the rank of Lieutenant for the corresponding year per the contract <br />between the Village and the Fire Union. The Fire Chief will also receive the paramedics' <br />stipend in the same amount as members of the Fire Union as long as the Chief maintains his or <br />her paramedic's certification. <br />(d) Each full-time dispatcher shall be reimbursed for the cost of uniforms for use in that <br />member's employment. There shall not be additional uniform allowance during the first year of <br />employment for any of the abovementioned employees. Each purchase above authorized shall <br />be paid by the Finance Department upon submittal of receipts signed and approved by the Chief, <br />Director or Commissioner of the respective department. <br />(e) Commencing with the second (2nd) year of employment, and continuing each year <br />thereafter, each full-time employee of the Service Department shall receive Four Hundred Fifty <br />and 00/100 Dollars ($450.00) for 2003, Four Hundred Seventy-Five and 00/100 Dollars <br />($475.00) for 2004 and Five Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($500.00) for 2005. Each full-time <br />Dispatcher shall receive a uniform allowance in the amount of Five Hundred Seventy-Five <br />Dollars and 00/100 ($575.00) for 2003, Six Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($600.00) for 2004 and <br />Six Hundred Twenty-Five and 00/100 Dollars ($625.00) for 2005. The amounts stated for <br />uniform allowance herein may also be used for uniform maintenance by the employee. Amounts <br />paid hereunder and per subsection (j) herein, shall be prorated for the time period between the <br />employee's first anniversary date and December 31st of that year. Similarly, upon termination, <br />an employee would be entitled to a prorated share of the uniform allowance on a reimbursement <br />basis for uniform items purchased in the year of termination. Such prorated share will be paid <br />upon receipt of the proper paperwork and department head approval with the first accounts <br />payable check run after the receipt of such paperwork. <br />
