ANL? VII. Training and Duties of Authorized Entrants i <br />? A. Hazard Recognition: It is the policy of the MR-Rhat authorized entrants: <br />1. Know the hazards which may be faced during the entry (Refer to III Pernut <br />Program). <br />2. Recognize the signs and symptoms of exposure to a hazard. Example - chemical <br />exposure: burning of eyes or skin; physical exposure: oxygen deficiency, <br />impaired judgment, rapid fatigue. <br />3. Understand the consequences of exposure to a hazard. Example - shortage of <br />oxygen can cause brain damage or even death. <br />B. Communication: It is the policy of the District that the authorized entrants: <br />1. Maintain contact with attendant and alert the attendant whenever; <br />a. T'he entrant recognizes any warning sign or symptom of exposure to a <br />dangerous situation; or <br />b. The entrant detects a prohibited condition. <br />2. Notify the attendant when the entrans self-initiate evacuation of a permit space. <br />4V_ C. Protective Equipment: It is the policy of the District that authorized entrants: <br />1. Are aware of the personal protective equipment needed for safe entry and exit: <br />- entry/exit system <br />- respirators/SCBAs <br />- protective clothing <br />2. Are provided with and use the personal protective equipment ro erl . <br />3. At'e Sware of external barriers needed to protect entrants from external hazards <br />and the proper use of those barriers. Example - barricades to protect entrants <br />from unauthorized personnel entering the permit space. <br />16.
