Section 30.2. Any permanent full-time employee who, at the end of their <br />first full calendar year of service to Mayfield Village, has an <br />accumulation of forty-five (45) days, unused sick leave and who, during the <br />same calendar year, has not used any of the sick days earned during that <br />year shall be compensated at the end of the calendar year the equivalent of <br />five (5) days pay without having any days deducted from accumulated but <br />unused sick leave. Sick leave accumulation lawfully transferred from prior <br />pubic employees shall be included for purposes of this section. If under <br />the foregoing circumstances, the employee has used one (1) earned sick day, <br />during the calendar year, then said employee shall be compensated at the <br />end of the year for four (4) days pay without having any of said days <br />deducted from accumulated but unused sick leave. If, under the foregoing <br />circumstances, the employee has used two (2) earned sick days, during the <br />calendar year, then said employee shall be compensated at the end of the <br />year for three (3) days, pay without having any of said days deducted from <br />accumulated but unused sick leave. If, under the foregoing circumstances, <br />the employee has used four (4) earned days, during the calendar year, then <br />said employee shall be compensated at the end of the year for one (1) day, <br />pay without having any of said days deducted from accumulated but unused <br />sick leave. <br />Section 30.3. Upon retirement, all full-time employees shall be entitled <br />to receive credit and payment for accumulated but unused sick leave not to <br />exceed two hundred forty (240) hours, provided that they have been employed <br />by the Village for ten (10) years or more. For purposes of this Section, an <br />employee shall be considered to have retired when such employee takes <br />actions that is inconsistent with any reasonable intent to continue <br />employment with the Municipality. <br />Section 30.4. If a full-time employee is scheduled to work on a holiday <br />enumerated in Section 26, and cannot work due to illness, that day shall be <br />considered a holiday day off and shall not be counted or compensated as a <br />sick day. <br />Section 30.5. "Hours of service" as used in this section, includes <br />overtime, vacations, holidays, sick leave, and all other approved and paid <br />leaves of absence from service. "Hours of service" does not include the <br />additional compensation time allowed an employee who works a holiday or has <br />their normal day off on a holiday. <br />ARTICLB 31 <br />EDUCATIONAL BENEFIT <br />Section 31.1. All permanent full-time employees who have earned an <br />Associate Degree relating to the field of their employment shall be <br />entitled to additional compensation equal to two percent (2%) of their base <br />pay. All full-time employees who have earned a Bachelor's Degree related to <br />their field of employment shall receive additional compensation equal to <br />four percent (4%) of their base pay. <br />Section 31.2. The compensation provided herein shall be payable in equal <br />installments in the first pay in May and the first pay in September of each <br />year. <br />22
