- Rights-of-Way: Basically, the Village's thoroughfare
system is established. Thus, with the exception of land
needed for local streets serving future .development
areas, the Comprehensive Plan does not foresee the need
for additional rights-of-way.
COMMUNITY FACILITIES: Mayfield Village is in the. enviable
position today of having an extensive portion of land set aside
for public and quasi-public uses. The Comprehensive Plan
enhances this asset by proposing the following improvements:
-Changes to Mayfield School District's Center Elementary
and Administration Building site at Wilson Mills/SOM
Center shown on the Mayfield Center Plan (Map 3) in
concert with planned municipal facilities;
- Continuing community access to Center Elementary's
playground and Mayfield High School's recreation field;
- Location of a new playground provided by the Village
behind the High School stadium near Ridgebury Boulevard;
and
- Provision of at least one nursery school, preferably in
Mayfield Center.
- Recreation:
- Development of a new recreation field northwest of the
Village's playground on SOM Center Road;
- Provision of~ a passive park in tandem with changes to
municipal facilities "shown on Map 3;
- Provision of a "tot lot" in each of Mayfield Village's
six Plan Areas; and
- Continuing use of Parkview Golf Course as a special
recreation facility.
- Municipal Services:
- Provision of new ~ governmental, police and fire
protection facilities on a site between Mayfield School
District's Administration Building and Georgian Center
on SOM Center Road (see Map 3); and
- Expansion of Service Department facilities in tandem
with Village owned land and recreation. facilities north
of Beta Drive.
30
