No more than six (6) weeks, one (1) day of vacation time for more <br />than twenty-five (25) years of service. <br />11. The head of each department shall determine the schedule of <br />vacations for the employees thereof. <br />12. "Year of Employment" as used in this Section pertaining to vacation <br />schedules means years of employment with Mayfield Village only. <br />However, any employee of the Municipality who has been previously <br />employed in a full-time capacity by the State of Ohio or any of its political <br />subdivisions, providing a letter of verification from the prior public <br />employee is submitted within the 1st year of employment with the Village, is <br />entitled to have such prior service counted as years of employment for the <br />purpose of computing vacation time herein and shall be credited as such on <br />January 1st after initial employment with the Village. <br />13. For purposes of this Section in computing a day for members of the <br />Fire Department one (1) day shall be equivalent to six (6) hours. For the <br />purpose of providing an example only, a member of the Fire Department with <br />five (5) years of service shall be entitled, pursuant to this Ordinance, to <br />vacation time in the amount of two (2) weeks plus one (1) day, which shall be <br />computed in accordance with this Subsection as five (5) tours of duty plus <br />six (6) hours. An employee in the Fire Department with six (6) years of <br />service is entitled to vacation time of two (2) weeks plus two (2) days, <br />which shall be computed as five (5) tours of duty plus twelve (12) hours. <br />F. Optional Holiday <br />1. In addition to those paid holidays authorized by Ordinance, each <br />permanent full-time employee shall be entitled to three (3) "optional days" <br />as paid holidays. <br />2. Any new permanent full-time employee hired on or after January 1st <br />for the purposes of computing "optional days" shall be entitled to the <br />following optional days in their first year of employment: <br />9 <br />
