"' Totals 304 283 587 100.0 23.3 <br />~ Generally, the Study Area encompa sses 23.3 of the entire <br />-~ Village, 19.6$ of its total developm ent and 34.4$ of its <br /> remaining vacant land. The majority of all business and <br />' industrial uses are situated in the Study Area, but far less <br /> land is developed residentially or alloca ted to public uses. <br />Except for Beta Drive, there are no subdivisions in the <br /> Study Area; and a "ribbon" form of development exists. That is, <br />- - the frontage of Wilson Mills, SOM Center, Highland and White <br /> Roads have been utilized without providing access to the rear. <br /> North Area (Map 1-N): Residential uses which include 36, one <br /> family dwellings comprise 25.4$ of the North Area's total <br /> developed land. The north side of Highland Road is fully <br /> developed residentially except for part of the corner parcel at <br /> Highland/SOM Center. Eleven, one family dwellings are scattered <br /> along SOM Center Road. Portions of eight of these parcels are <br /> vacant, and one is also utilized for outdoor storage. The rear <br />`~ - portions of seven, one family parcels on White Road are vacant <br /> as well. <br />' Parkview Golf Course, Don Ray Products, Mount Sinai Cemetery <br /> and 10 acres of street rights-of-way are the North Area's only <br /> nonresidential uses. Some 162 acres, or 53.3 of its entire <br /> area, are vacant. <br />_ South Area (Map 1-S): Only 10.5$ of the South Area's total <br />ti development is residential. All but one of its 25, one family <br /> dwellings are scattered along SOM Center and Highland Roads. <br /> The rear portions of six of the ten residential parcels on <br />,~ Highland are vacant. <br />A diversity of business and industrial uses are concentrated <br />in the South Area. In fact, excluding Parkview Golf Course and <br />Don Ray Products in the North Area, 30 acres in Progressive Park <br />west of I-271 and 17 acres east and south of the Study Area at <br />Wilson Mills/SOPS Center, all of Mayfield's existing business and <br />5 <br />
