Collective Bargaining Agreement between <br />Mayfield Village and the I.A.F.F. Loca12619 <br />2. Any member of the Fire Deparhnent may attend, at the expense of the Village any <br />conference or convention relating to their scope of employment, if authorized by the <br />Department Head and the fiscal officer of the Village certifies that funds are <br />appropriated and available for such purpose. Such person shall be reimbursed for <br />lodging and shall be permitted a Thirty-Five dollar ($35.00) per diem for meals for <br />each day of travel. <br />3. All employees who are sununoned to jury duty in the municipal, county or federal <br />court system, must advise their chief, and or director, immediately upon receiving <br />same. If the employee is scheduled to work during said scheduled jury duty, the <br />employee will be paid his regular compensation for that time period. The employee <br />will then reimburse the Village one hundred percent (100%) of all funds received <br />from the court for said jury duty. An employee who finishes his jury duty early, <br />during the course of his shift, should report for duty for the balance of his regular <br />shift. Similarly, an employee will work as much of his or her shift as possible before <br />jury duty taking into account reasonable travel time. <br />Section 21.8. Effective January 1, 2006, all employees of the bargaining unit who are hired after <br />January 1, 2000 and appointed by the Fire Chief and Safety Director to serve on the Hillcrest <br />Technical Rescue Team shall be paid a yearly premium of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00). The <br />premium shall be paid in monthly installments over the calendar year. <br />ARTICLE 22 <br />SICK LEAVE <br />Section 22.1. Crediting of Sick Leave. Fire Department employees, covered under this contract, <br />shall earn 3.23 hours for every 56 hours of service not to exceed one hundred sixty-eight (168) <br />hours of sick leave annually. <br />"Hours of service" as used in this section, includes overtime, vacations, holiday, sick leave and all <br />other approved and paid leaves of absence from service. "Hours of service" does not include the <br />additional compensation time allowed an employee who works a holiday or has their normal day off <br />on a holiday. <br />Section 22.2. IZetention of Sick Leave. An employee who transfers from another public agency <br />to Mayfield Village, who has prior service with a public agency in Ohio, shall retain credit for any <br />sick leave earned so long as he is employed by Mayfield Village, except that deduction shall be <br />made for any payment or credit given by the previous agency in lieu of taking sick leave. The <br />previously accumulated sick leave of an employee who has been separated from the public service <br />shall be placed on his credit upon his re-employment with Mayfield Village, provided that such <br />re-employment takes place within ten (10) years of the date on which the employee was last <br />terminated from public service. <br />Page 19 of 38
