7. The participating municipalities further agree that the annual maintenance fee <br />for the Mobile Air and Rescue Unit be increased from its original fee of Five <br />Hundred Dollars ($500.00) to the fee of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) <br />per annum, per participating municipality. Such fee shall be due and payable <br />in January of each year, as long as this Agreement is in effect. It is intended <br />that one half (1/2) of the annual fee shall be One Thousand Dollars <br />($1, 000.00) designated for repairs, maintenance and supplies for the Mobile <br />Air Rescue Unit 577 vehicle and related equipment. It is agreed by the <br />participating municipalities that One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) is not <br />intended to be a limitation upon the amount of the contribution that may be <br />necessary from each community to maintain the Mobile Air and Rescue Unit, <br />but is only intended to be an annual deposit toward the actual cost and expense <br />of maintaining and upgrading the Mobile Air and Rescue Unit and its related <br />equipment. Further, the participating municipalities agree that it is intended <br />that the remaining one half (1/2) of the annual fee shall be designated for <br />maintenance, equipment, and special group education for the members of <br />MAUTRT. <br />8. The participating municipalities further agree that expenditures of monies from <br />the annual maintenance fee fund or the group education fund shall be under the <br />direction and control of the commanding officer and Fire Chiefs of each of the <br />participating municipalities as follows. The participating municipalities agree <br />• that the Fire Chiefs of the participating municipalities shall approve the annual <br />budget which shall be prepared by the commanding officer. Said approval <br />shall be by no less than a 2/3rds vote of the Fire Chiefs of the participating <br />municipalities. Any single expenditure to a single vendor of One Thousand <br />Dollars ($1,000.00) or more must be approved by a vote of 2/3rds of the Fire <br />Chiefs of the participating municipalities. Any expenditures of One Thousand <br />Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) or more to a single vendor in an~annual <br />budget term must be approved by a vote of 2/3rds of the Fire Chiefs of the <br />participating municipalities. <br />9. The participating municipalities further agree that the City of Mayfield Heights <br />shall maintain the annual maintenance fee fund and shall be authorized to <br />receive and disburse monies from the fund, as requested by the commanding <br />officer, or in case of an expenditure of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) or <br />more for a single item,. as approved by a vote of 2/3 by the Fire Chiefs of the <br />participating municipalities. <br />10. The participating municipalities further agree that the Mobile Air Rescue Unit <br />577 will be titled to the participating municipality that provides the chassis for <br />the Mobile Air Unit and that participating municipality will maintain any <br />licensing and insurance coverage relative to the Mobile Air Rescue Unit 577, <br />which costs shall be divided equally amongst the participating municipalities. <br />3 <br />
