Pregnancy or the birth of the emplovee's child and in order to care <br />for the child; <br />B. The placement of a child with the employee for adoption or <br />foster care; <br />C. To care for aspouse, child, or parent who has a serious health <br />condition; <br />D. A serious health condition that renders the employee incapable <br />of performing the functions of his or her j ob; <br />E. Because of any qualifving exigencv arising out of the fact that <br />the spouse, son, daughter, or parent of the emplovee is a <br />covered military member on active duty (or has been notified <br />of an impending call or order to active dutv) in the Armed <br />Forces in support of a contingency operation; and <br />F. To care for a covered servicemember with a serious injury <br />or illness if the employee is the spouse, son, dau hg ter, parent, <br />or next of kin of the servicemember. <br />(2) Any employee eligible for leave under (c)(1) may be provided with up <br />to twelve (12) weeks of leave during any twelve (12) month period. There are also <br />special leave entitlements that permit eli ibmplovees to take up to 26 weelcs of <br />leave to care for a covered service member during a single, 12-month period.
