Pragramming for XML compliance <br />Within each allowable catcgpry, the AEL furthcr subdivides the equipmcnt evenriially <br />down !o specific lists of items that are allowable. The items may or may not include <br />"L7escriptions" that help ta claril'y what the items arc or impose further eligibility requirement. <br />7`he items may also include "Notes" thae impose restrictions an hpw funds may be used to <br />purchase agiven item item. Fpr example, <br />AEL Item 12VE-00-AT3U5,Vehicte Mass Casua]t I`rans rt <br />Descri tion: Speciializecl vehicies such as "Arnbulance Buses" ta transport <br />stretcher-bame patients during a mass-casualty event. Includes retrafit kits to <br />convert existing vehicles into mass casudity transports, <br />Notes: This category includes special-purpose vehicles for the transport of CBRNE <br />terrorism respanse equipment and pcrspnnel to d2e incident site. T icensing and <br />registration fces are the responsibility oFthe jurisdiction and are not allowable <br />under this grant, In additian, general-purpose vehicles (patrol Gars, exc;cutive <br />trAnsportation, etc.), tire apparatus, and non-CRRNE lactieal/am,ared assault <br />vehiclcs are not allowable.' <br />Equipment Eligibility: Before any equipment iiem is added to the Urban Area's budget, <br />the Area tttust frr•st canfirm the item cpnforms tn a specific AEL equipment item, to inciude its <br />respeclive description and notes. [f not, the Urban Area rnust consult with OEMA's Grants <br />13ranch ta determirie eligibility. It is recognized that the AFL is not an a11-inclusive list. Some items that wish to be. <br />purchASCo may not exactly match a speci.fic item in the f#EL, In thosc cases, the Urban Area <br />must consulE OLMA's Crants Branch to determine whether or not the item meeta the <br />intent and re,strictions of a given AEL equipment category/item. If QEMA cannat concur or <br />determine the cligibility af the item, they will consult with DHS tq canfirm eligibiliry of the <br />item. Equipment item decisians made by <br />OBMA and DZ-iS are no1 subject ta appeal. <br />Any cquipment purchased with grant funding shafl, when practical, be praminently <br />markud as fallnws: "Purchased with funds pravided by the U.S. Department of Hameland <br />Security." It is recagnized that not every individual item can be labelcd as such.
