The published student material that <br />corttains the supporting information in booklet, clectronic, or hazidout Form that <br />the participant has available for reference. <br />c. Audio/Visual Support Materials. Any audia/visual components that are part of <br />any learning module, sessiqn, lesson or that supports thE overall training bcing <br />dclivered. <br />d. Special Support Materials. Any desCriptions of praciical exercises, table-top <br />exercises, hands-on exercises or other material that supports the learning <br />abjcctives. • <br />6. Module/SessionlT,esson Content: Training courses shauld be designcd based on a <br />building block approach. Each sub-component in the course should be titlcd as a module, <br />session, ar lesson. Rcgardless of tlie title, each module, session, or lesion, should have a Lessan <br />Administration Pagc (LAP) that outlines the following: <br />a. Seopc Statement. A brief description of the contcnt of the module, session, or <br />lesson. <br />b, Terminal Learning Qbjectives (TT.O). An action verb statement that outlincs what the student is expected to iearn or be capable aTperforming at the canclusion <br />of the module, session, or lesson. There should be only one 1`Lp per module, <br />session, ar lesson. <br />c, Enabling Learning Objectir?es (ELO), F.nAbling learning Qbjectives *are the <br />ineremental leartiing objeetives thai suppart the TLQ. There should be at least <br />one ELO per mod-ule, scssian, or lesson. Each ELO must be a measurable <br />performanCe statement that enables the studeni to demonstrate achievcment of the <br />TLO. <br />d. Resourcc List. A listing of tho resources necded to successfully accomplish the <br />module, session, or lesson, <br />e. Instructor tp Stuclent Ratio. The instructar to siudenl requirement for successful <br />presentation of the material (e.g. 1:25) <br />£ Reference List. A listing of all refcrence materials used ta dcvelop thc module, <br />session, or lesson. This infprmation may also be included as a bibliography. <br />g. Yractical Exe*cise Staternent. 'Mis dcscribes any exercises associated with the <br />module, session, or lesson. <br />h. Fvaluation Strategy. This ciefines the stralegy used to eva[uate the module, <br />- - - session; or lesson e. ' <br />---- -- ( g., wrrtten And/or performance tcsts or asses- <br />-sments) <br />bHS wilt review the caurse far approval. DRS ntay request further details or course <br />materials to be developcd before releasing the, course far delivery. I7HS will advise OEMA once <br />the caurse is approved. qF„MA in turn will notify the submitting agency that thc course is <br />approved for delivery, and then will advise all counties that the course is approved for delivery in <br />the Statc. At that iime; fiinds may be used to delirrer, conduct, or attend that training program. <br />Qverall, QEMA's '1'raining and Excrcise Office will serve as the cen#ral point for <br />answer;ng questions with rcgards to training using grant funds, Grant recipients should not <br />eoncact DHS directly in regards to a training initiative unless specifieally requested to do sa by <br />()FMA. <br />Page 16.
