Agreement between Mayfield V'illage and F.O.P. Lodge 57 <br />Section 6.3. All reference to employees in this Agreement designate both sexes; and wherever the <br />male gender is used, it shall be construed to include male and female employees. <br />Section 6.4. The Ernployer and F.O.P. agree not to discriminate against any bargaining unit member <br />on the basis of inembership, non-membership, or position in the F.O.P. <br />ARTICLE 7 <br />PROBATIONARYPERIOD <br />Section 7.1. All full-time employees shall be required to successfully complete a probationary period <br />of one (1) year, prior to their pernianent appointmerYt. The probationary period shall begin on the first <br />day for which the employee receives compensation from the Employer. <br />Section 7.2. Probationary employees may be removed during their initial probationary period. <br />Removal during the probationary period is not appealable through the grievance procedure contained <br />herein. <br />ARTICLE 8 <br />LABOR MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE <br />Section 8.1. In the interest of sound labor/management relations, unless mutually agreed otherwise, <br />once each calendar quarter, and on a mutually agreeable day and time, the Ma.yor and Police Chief or <br />their designees shall meet with not more than three (3) representatives of the F.O.P. to discuss issues <br />of mutual labor management interest. The F.O.P. may substitute an alternate at any committee meeting. <br />Section 8.2. Each party may fiunish an agenda to the other party at least one (1) week in advance of <br />scheduled meetings. The agenda, if provided by the F:O.P, sha11 include the names of the bargaining <br />unit representatives who will be attending. The purposes of such meetings shaU be to: <br />A. discuss the administration of this Agreement; <br />B. notify the F.O.P, of changes made by the Police Chief which affect the bargaining unit; <br />C. discuss grievances which ha.ve not been processed beyond the final step of grievance <br />procedure when such discussions are mutually agreed to by the parties; <br />D. disseminate general information of interest to parties; <br />E. discuss ways to increase productivity and improvement of efficiency; and <br />Page 5 of 35
