Agreement belween Mayfield V':llage and F.O.P. Lodge 57 <br />However, any employee of the Municipality who has been previously employed in a full-time capacity <br />by the State of Ohio or any of its political subdivisions, providing a letter of verification from the prior <br />public employer is submitted within the lst year of employment with the V'illage, is entitled to ha.ve <br />such prior service counted as years of employmerrt for the purpose of computing vacation time herein <br />and shall be credited as such on January 1 st after initial employment with the V"illage. <br />Section 24.2. An employee hired prior to 7uly 1 in any year shall for the purposes of computing <br />vacation only be considered to be in his second year of employment on January 1 st of the year <br />following his year of employment. <br />An employee hired on or after July 1 in any year shall for the purposes of computing vacation only be <br />considered to be in his second year of employment on January 1 st of the year following the first <br />anniversary of his employmerrt. <br />An employee hired prior to July 1 in any year shall be entitled to three (3) da.ys of vacation in the year <br />of his employment. <br />An employee hired on or after July 1 in any year shall in the year following his employment be entitled <br />to one (1) day of vacation for every two (2) months of employment, not to exceed five (5) total <br />vacation days. Such vacation days shall not accrue until after the employee has worked each two (2) <br />month period. <br />All vacation time shall be credited to an employee on 7anuary 1 st each year and employees may take <br />their vacation at any time within the calendar yea.r, subject to the approval of the head of the <br />department in wluch the employee works. <br />Section 24.3. Vacation time will be computed from date of hire. <br />Section 24.4. All vacation time must be taken within the calendar year or it will be forfeited. <br />Employees may make a written request to cany over unused vacation to the Mayor or his designee for <br />consideration. The Ma.yor shall have final approval to grant a cany-over of vacation leave. <br />Page 20 of 35
