Providing technical assistance to Mayfield to facilitate overall project development. URSG shall
attend the public input meeting and the public hearing, if required.
Due to the project type (single corridor), Stage I and II will be combined (e.g. separate approval to advance
the project to Stage II is not required). Tasks to be performed under each Stage is briefly described below
following ODOT's Scope of Services Minutes numbering sequence.
STAGE I -STUDY AREA
A. Inventory: The objective of this portion of the project is to initiate work on the project and to
prepare an environmental controls base map to set a feasible alternative alignment location. While
Stage I & II are assumed to be combined for purposes of the completion of this project, URSG
recommends that a meeting be set up to present the fmdings of the Stage I work.
Upon notice to proceed, URSG will review completed reports and secure information on project
study area controls. Available aerial photography and other base mapping required to prepare the
environmental controls map and assessment shall be obtained. ODNR will be contacted for any
information on threatened and endangered species. A commercial hazardous waste data base will
be contacted for information on known hazazdous materials sites. Available information on platted
and planned subdivisions will also be obtained. Known cultural resources will be identified as well
as secondary literature information on possible wetland locations.
URSG shall prepare a study azea map showing environmental controls based on Stage I information
-` ~ = secured by URSG and its subconsultant. A copy of the map will be provided to Mayfield Village for
its review and comment in advance of a meeting to discuss the fmdings.
STAGE II -FEASIBLE ALTERNATIVES SEGMENT
Work to be performed under this stage consists principally of completing the necessary baseline studies to
identify and confum controls within the project azea. A description of work to be performed for each
applicable task follows below.
A. Environmental Studies: Environmental data collection required at this stage shall be for the
following items:
Property Owner Notification: URSG shall secure a list of property owners located along
the project alignment and prepare a draft notification letter. This information shall be
provided to Mayfield Village who shall be responsible for sending out the notifications. A
copy shall also be provided to the cultural resources consultant.
Cultural Resources: ASC Archaeological Resources shall be responsible for completing
the necessary cultural resource surveys. URSG shall provide the necessary mapping to the
subconsultant and provide other information as deemed important. A total of six (6) copies
of the draft Phase I report shall be provided to URSG. A total of five (5) copies shall be
forwarded to the Mayfield for forwarding to the Ohio Department of Transportation for their
review.
Ecological Resources: Project area ecological resources are very limited although a one
season evaluation is required to chazacterize resources.
