that two (2) perennial streams may exist within the project azea. Also, review of the project
azea indicates few if any wetlands exist within the project azea although a screening and
wetland determination will be completed. Per ODOT requirements, all wetlands located
within 200 feet of the probable project limits although wetland determinations will be
completed for only suspect wetlands located within 100 feet of the project limits. Terrestrial
resources shall also be documented in the report. A total of five (5) copies of the draft
ecological. report shall be provided to Mayfield Village for forwarding to ODOT. Upon
acceptance, an additional ten (10) copies shall be provided.
Flood Hazard & Sole Source Aquifer Screening: URSG shall prepare a sole source
aquifer screening evaluation for submittal to Mayfield Village after completion of the
development of the feasible alternative by the Mayfield Village's engineer. The Mayfield
Village shall submit the screening evaluation to ODOT for coordination with the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency. The results of the coordination shall be incorporated into
the environmental assessment of feasible alternatives.
Land Use: A review will be made to update the status of proposed development (planned
and platted) along the corridor. Otherwise no additional information will be collected on
land use.
Social and Economic: A summary will be prepared documenting existing social and
economic conditions. Social and economic impacts will be abstracted in the EAFA and will
be based on available census data.
_ Hazardous Materials: All properties identified in conjunction with the proposed project
will be screened for possible involvement with hazazdous waste. This will include properties
that are adjacent to the proposed construction and properties that aze slated for easements
and/or acquisitions.
Worker Safety is the main consideration in hazazdous waste involvement, particularly in
azeas of "in right of way" construction. In "non-right of way" construction areas, hazardous
waste liability and worker safety issues are the primary considerations.
B. Hazardous Materials Screening: A screening will be completed to assess if any suspect pazcels
exists where there exists a potential to encounter hazazdous materials. Properties not suspected of
having potential contamination will be eliminated from further evaluation in Phase I. The following
specific task will be completed in completing the hazazdous materials screening.
Task (1) -Parcel Identification: Sanborn, Hopkins or equivalent historic maps and/or
aerial photographs will be reviewed for information detailing past industrial and commercial
users of the properties within the project location. Available maps/aerial photographs will
be reviewed to determine land use or industrial to residential changes and to identify suspect
locations.
Task (2) -Regulatory Records Review: US and Ohio Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) files will be requested for any properties that aze deemed to be suspect with regards
to contamination. Properties will be deemed suspect based on information uncovered in any
of the other tasks described in this proposal. In addition, EPA lists will be reviewed to
determine the relative proximity of any spills, landfills, uncontrolled sites, RCRA sites, and
Superfund sites within .5 miles of alignments. The source of the data shall be a commercial
hazardous materials data base. The results of the data search will be presented on base
Q:~BD~50306Q1QVI'-VIEWIWKORD4TO.WPD 4 URS Grein®r
