mapping developed in Stage I although the detailed findings shall be incorporated into the
screening report.
Task (3) -Site Visit: A site walkover will be conducted to visually inspect the project azea
for the purpose of determining azeas of potential or apparent contamination.
Task (4) -Report Preparation: A site screening report will be prepazed which contains
recommendations for the next phase of work. The screening report will include all
appropriate documentation used in conducting steps 1-3 and will include a Preliminary Site
Screening Checklist for logical subsections of the project location.
C. Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (Optional): A Phase I site assessment will be conducted
for up to three individual properties that were identified in the Site Screening as having a potential
for contamination. This task will be initiated only upon written authorization to proceed.
Task (2) -Geography/Geology Setting: A geographic and geological study will be
conducted within the vicinity of identified alignments. This will serve as project limits until
firm boundary definitions are established. The geographic setting will address such items
as past and present land use of each pazcel in addition to the surrounding land uses.
A geological profile of the azea will be conducted prior to any field investigation. By
gathering available information about local geology. Significant items to be considered are
depth to bedrock, depth to groundwater, and hydrologic conditions. URSG will not engage
in boring activities that are for the sole purpose of determining geological features.
Task (3&4) -Property Documentation: A comprehensive property documentation file
will be created for all properties to be acquired. Typically, each file will contain the
following reseazch information about a particular pazcel of property.
Chain of Title: A chain of title seazch will be conducted for each individual property
to help determine possible past uses of a particulaz pazcel of property. The seazch
will not include information regazding liens, easements, or special deeds but will be
based on existing pazcel information available from the County.
Local Zoning Officials -Representatives from the local planning commission and/or
zoning boards will be contacted and interviewed to obtain information regazding
past zoning of parcels within the right-of--way.
Fire Department/Emergency Management Agency -These two agencies will be
solicited for the purpose of determining past incidents regazding releases of
hazazdous materials. Local fire department inspection records will also be reviewed
for the purpose of determining the identity and disposition of regulated materials for
a given entity. These agencies may also provide useful information regazding
underground storage tanks (LTSTs).
The Office of the State Fire Marshall will be contacted for information detailing the
location and status of registered USTs within the right-of--way, if available,
information will also be gathered regarding recently closed UST systems and post
closure reports.
Q:1BD150306Q1IIdT-VIfiw1WKORD4T0.WPD 5 UR.S G~OIAO~
