mapping developed in Stage I although the detailed findings shall be incorporated into the <br />screening report. <br />Task (3) -Site Visit: A site walkover will be conducted to visually inspect the project azea <br />for the purpose of determining azeas of potential or apparent contamination. <br />Task (4) -Report Preparation: A site screening report will be prepazed which contains <br />recommendations for the next phase of work. The screening report will include all <br />appropriate documentation used in conducting steps 1-3 and will include a Preliminary Site <br />Screening Checklist for logical subsections of the project location. <br />C. Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (Optional): A Phase I site assessment will be conducted <br />for up to three individual properties that were identified in the Site Screening as having a potential <br />for contamination. This task will be initiated only upon written authorization to proceed. <br />Task (2) -Geography/Geology Setting: A geographic and geological study will be <br />conducted within the vicinity of identified alignments. This will serve as project limits until <br />firm boundary definitions are established. The geographic setting will address such items <br />as past and present land use of each pazcel in addition to the surrounding land uses. <br />A geological profile of the azea will be conducted prior to any field investigation. By <br />gathering available information about local geology. Significant items to be considered are <br />depth to bedrock, depth to groundwater, and hydrologic conditions. URSG will not engage <br />in boring activities that are for the sole purpose of determining geological features. <br />Task (3&4) -Property Documentation: A comprehensive property documentation file <br />will be created for all properties to be acquired. Typically, each file will contain the <br />following reseazch information about a particular pazcel of property. <br />Chain of Title: A chain of title seazch will be conducted for each individual property <br />to help determine possible past uses of a particulaz pazcel of property. The seazch <br />will not include information regazding liens, easements, or special deeds but will be <br />based on existing pazcel information available from the County. <br />Local Zoning Officials -Representatives from the local planning commission and/or <br />zoning boards will be contacted and interviewed to obtain information regazding <br />past zoning of parcels within the right-of--way. <br />Fire Department/Emergency Management Agency -These two agencies will be <br />solicited for the purpose of determining past incidents regazding releases of <br />hazazdous materials. Local fire department inspection records will also be reviewed <br />for the purpose of determining the identity and disposition of regulated materials for <br />a given entity. These agencies may also provide useful information regazding <br />underground storage tanks (LTSTs). <br />The Office of the State Fire Marshall will be contacted for information detailing the <br />location and status of registered USTs within the right-of--way, if available, <br />information will also be gathered regarding recently closed UST systems and post <br />closure reports. <br />Q:1BD150306Q1IIdT-VIfiw1WKORD4T0.WPD 5 UR.S G~OIAO~ <br />
