Collective Bargaining Agreement between <br />Mayfield Village and the I.A.F.F. Loca12619 <br />ARTICLE 17 <br />SElvIORITY <br />Section 17.1. Defmition of Senioritv. Seniority shall, for the purposes of this Agreement, be <br />defined as an employee's length of continuous full-time service since his or her last date of hire <br />within each job classification or rank. Seniority shall be determined between two employees by the <br />higher rank. When two or more employees have the same rank, seniority shall be deternuned by <br />the length of service within the job classification or rank. <br />Section 17.2. Determination of Seniority for Same Dav Hires. Seniority shall be computed from <br />the date of appointment. If more than one person is hired on the same date, then that person <br />occupying the highest position on the Civil Service appointment list shall receive seniority <br />preference. <br />Section 173. Termination of Senioritv. Seniority and the employment relationship shall be <br />tenninated when an employee: <br />1. quits; or <br />2. is discharged for just cause; or <br />is absent for three (3) consecutive working days without notifying the Employer or without <br />good cause; or <br />4. is laid off and fails to report for work within thirty (30) working days after having been <br />recalled; or <br />5. does not report for work within three (3) days after the termuiation of an authorized leave of <br />absence unless such absence is approved or leave is extended by the Village; or <br />6. is laid off for a period in excess of two (2) years; or <br />7. retires, or is retired. <br />Section 17.4. Senioritv Roster. The Village shall maintain and keep current a seniority roster <br />noting date of hire, current rate of pay, current position by job title and/or classification. The <br />seniority roster sha11 be made available to the Union representative at all times. <br />ARTICLE 18 <br />BULLETIN BOARD SPACE <br />Section 18.1. The Employer agrees to provide exclusive bulletin board space in the Fire <br />Department for use by the Union. <br />13
