All Union notices of any kind posted on the bulletin board shall be signed, dated, <br />posted or removed by the Union official. <br />Section 18.3. Non-union, political, obscene or insulting material shall not be posted. <br />Section 18.4. Upon the request of the Employer's designee, the Union shall cause the immediate <br />removal of any material posted in violation of this Article. <br />ARTICLE 19 <br />WORK PERIOD AND WORKWEEK <br />Section 19.1. A work period is hereby determined to be a period of time for record-keeping <br />purposes to be used for the deternunation of overtime for the Fire Department of the Village and <br />shall consist of fourteen (14) days, averaging one hundred (100) regularly scheduled hours. <br />Commencing January 1, 2011, those employees scheduled in accordance with the three (3) platoon <br />shift shall work an average fifty (50) hour workweek. This shall be worked as twenty-four (24) <br />hours on duty and forty-eight (48) hours off duty. One day without pay (Kelly Day) will be <br />scheduled off every twenty-eight (28) day work period to attain the fifty (50) hour workweek. <br />Section 19.2. In the event that an employee is required to attend training that exceeds five days in <br />length, the employee will observe a forty (40) hour work week and his or her hourly rate and the <br />accrual of benefits will be adjusted accordingly for the time period that he or she is on that <br />schedule. <br />ARTICLE 20 <br />OVERTIME <br />Section 20.1. Overtime shall be paid when it is earned at one and one-half (1112) times the hourly <br />wage as calculated taking annual base salary, adding longevity, the paramedic stipend, Hillcrest <br />Technical Rescue Team stipend and education benefit and dividing by two thousand, six hundred <br />(2,600) hours. Overtime shall be taken as monetary payment on such basis for any hours worked <br />in excess of regularly scheduled hours as set forth in Secrion 19.1 in any work period. Vacation, <br />holidays and optional holidays used during any portion of the work week shall be counted for the <br />purpose of determining the existence of overtime worked during that period. Sick leave, <br />bereavement leave and time paid for any union business per Section 15 of this contract will not be <br />counted as hours worked toward the calculation of overtime. For the purpose of calculating <br />overtime in a week that sick hours are used, only the excess hours worked for that week shall be <br />calculated by dividing the base rate plus longevity by two thousand, six hundred (2,600) hours and <br />multiplying by one. <br />Section 20.2. Any time an employee is representing the Village in a legal matter as a court <br />witness or in a deposition, he or she shall be compensated at the employee's regular rate of time if <br />such court appearance is during the employee's regularly scheduled tour of duty.
