Thereupon Mr. Swanson stated that this would provide for Bonnieview and
also to the other areas of Mayfield Village now served by the present sewage
system in addition to new service wYiich would be possible due to the
proposed improvement. - -
Q. Audience: Will the present proposed improvement make any
provision.-for service east of Beach Hill Road?
A. Mr. Puzenski: Service east of Beach Hill Road is not in the-
prasent plans. It is possible that in the future
a trunk line can be extended down Wilson Mills Road.
Q. Mr. Endress:- Will the present proposed improvement be adequate if
at a future time service east of Beach Hill Road
is added? -
A. Mr. Puzenski: The present improvement will be adequate to allow
service east of Beach Hill Road in the future.
Q. Audiences Wi]1 the present proposed improvement make any
provision for the area of the Village of Mayfield
north of 1Yilson Mills Road? -
A. Mr. Puzenski: This improvement is not designed to care for the
northern care of the Village of Mayfield.
- Q. Audience: Is an assessment contemplated?
A. Mr. Puzenski: An assessment is contemplated.. Residents of the
Qilla~e of Mayfield w~.11 be assessed on the basis of
present and future benefit. Residents of the
Village of ~lta.yfield will be assessed for local,
present and future benefit even though they are
presently served by sewers. Other municipalities
_ - will also bear part of the burden on the basis of
their present and future benefit from the proposed
improvement.
Q. Audience: Why does not the present proposed-plan for alleviating
the sewage problem provide for all of the Village
of Mayfield? -
A. Mr. Puzenslci: The cost of such a measure would be out of proportion
to its utility. It-is not economically feasible to
include the area north of tiYilson l~.lls Road for it
would increast the cost of appro~dmately two million
( 2,000,00) dollars.
Q. Audience: What is to be the cost to the taxpayers of the Village
of Mayfield?
A. Mr. Puzenski: The exact cast has. not yet been calculated. The
local present and.f.uture benefit assessment will be
approximately 192 dollars per acre. Back acreage
' will of course be assessed at a lesser rate. And
when local mains are installed, additional special
assessments-would be levied at the rate of approxfzuately
15 dollars per front foot. The real cost of the local
present and future .benefit will be twice the amount
which is to be assessed against the property owners,
but the county has agreed to assume one half of the
local present and future benefit cost,
3.
