1 No. 2. The Safety Committee then recommended various changes in our building permit fees to bring them in line with other municipalities. T~Ir. Tnlhiting then read off various changes with comparison figures between our present ordinance, our old ordinance, and the fees charged by other municipalities. These recommended changes were then turned over to our solicitor for study, to be acted upon at some future meeting. ' No. 3, The Safety Committee then reported that otu° Building Inspector wished to have ordinance No. 385 and Ordinance No. 285 duplicated in some condensed form and 50 copies made to give people building homes. The Clerk reported that this could be done if a mimeograph machine were purchased for the Village. No, ~.® The Safety Committee reported that the firemen were having difficulty in finding parking space during events at the Totm Ha7.l, and suggested enlarging the police parking area on the east side of the Town Na11® The Fire Chief, it was reported, had a quantity of broken sidewalk material which he would donate for the base. It was moved by Mr. Beard, seconded by l~lr. Taylor, that our Service Director be authorized to obtain this material from Mr. Porter and extend the paricing area. It was suggested by the Safety Committee that the village pay one-half the cost.of a uniform for the Chief of the Fire Department. It was moved by Mr. Bearcl, seconded by lvr. Strater, that the Village pay one half the cost of a uniform for the Fix°e Chief. Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Swanson,Strater,Taylor,~'1hiting,Beard & Oatess. Nays None® ° Motion Carried The Safety Committee then reported that they had various recor,~mienda.tions that the rite Chief be put on a regular salary. Mayor Dndress then asked Council to give the Service Director authority to purchase slag and fill in holes in the roads off S.O.M. Our Solicitor reported that Mr. Wieland did not need authority to perform this function if he stayed within our budget. Mr. Wieland asked Council for permission to install electric windshield wipers on the service -truck; stating that he was having difficulty in seeing during bad weather, especially in plowing snow. Flt. Strater said that a booster pump would do as well or better. It liras moved by Tlr. Oatess, seconded by 1"Ir. 1r~hitir_g, that Z"Zr. Wieland be authorized to have this repair made. 3®
