1 <br />No. 2. The Safety Committee then recommended various changes in our <br />building permit fees to bring them in line with other municipalities. T~Ir. <br />Tnlhiting then read off various changes with comparison figures between our <br />present ordinance, our old ordinance, and the fees charged by other municipalities. <br />These recommended changes were then turned over to our solicitor for study, to <br />be acted upon at some future meeting. ' <br />No. 3, The Safety Committee then reported that otu° Building Inspector <br />wished to have ordinance No. 385 and Ordinance No. 285 duplicated in some <br />condensed form and 50 copies made to give people building homes. <br />The Clerk reported that this could be done if a mimeograph machine <br />were purchased for the Village. <br />No, ~.® The Safety Committee reported that the firemen were having <br />difficulty in finding parking space during events at the Totm Ha7.l, and <br />suggested enlarging the police parking area on the east side of the Town Na11® <br />The Fire Chief, it was reported, had a quantity of broken sidewalk material <br />which he would donate for the base. <br />It was moved by Mr. Beard, seconded by l~lr. Taylor, that our Service <br />Director be authorized to obtain this material from Mr. Porter and extend the <br />paricing area. ' <br />Ro11 Call Ayes - Messrs Swanson,Strater,Taylor,ti~l~.i.ting,Beard ~ Oatess. <br />Nays - None. <br />' - Motion Carried <br />' No. 5. It was suggested by the Safety Committee that the village pay <br />one-half the cost.of a uniform for the Chief of the Fire Department. <br />It was moved by Mr. Bearcl, seconded by lvr. Strater, that the Village <br />pay one half the cost of a uniform for the Fix°e Chief. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Swanson,Strater,Taylor,~'1hiting,Beard & Oatess. <br />Nays None® ° <br />Motion Carried <br />The Safety Committee then reported that they had various recor,~mienda.tions <br />that the rite Chief be put on a regular salary. <br />Mayor Dndress then asked Council to give the Service Director authority <br />to purchase slag and fill in holes in the roads off S.O.M. Our Solicitor <br />reported that Mr. Wieland did not need authority to perform this function if <br />he stayed within our budget. <br />Mr. Wieland asked Council for permission to install electric windshield <br />wipers on the service -truck; stating that he was having difficulty in seeing <br />during bad weather, especially in plowing snow. Flt. Strater said that a booster <br />pump would do as well or better. <br />It liras moved by Tlr. Oatess, seconded by 1"Ir. 1r~hitir_g, that Z"Zr. Wieland <br />be authorized to have this repair made. <br />3® <br />
