Whiting then introduced Ordinance No. ZF9~ entitled: "An Ordinance <br />to Amend Section 3 of Ordinance #303, as Amended by Orclinances Tdos. 313 and <br />1.21, by Increasi~zg the Compensation of the School Guard", which ordinance <br />was read.to Council. <br />It was moved by Mr. Taylor, seconded_by Mr. Strater, that the rules <br />of law requiring an ordinance be read on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />_ Roll Call: Ayes- I`essrs Swanson,Strater,Taylor,Whiting,Beard ~ Oates. <br />Nays - Tdone ® , <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />It was moved by I`7r. After some discussion, it was moved by Mr. <br />Oates, seconded by I~r, Taylor, that our Engineer prepare figures and <br />estimates of cost on this improvement. <br />Roll Call:. Ayes - T'Iessrs Swanson,Strater,Taylor,Beard & Oatess. <br />Nays - Mr. ~lhitin.g. <br />Motion Carried <br />I`Zr. Oates then explained that, because our village was under <br />c onstant expense frith certain of our streets, it had been decided to take <br />one street at a time as money was available and improve them to do away <br />with this expense. <br />I~ro Oatess,talking for the Building Corrunittee, brought out the <br />following facts. He stated that our Tom Hall had, never been connected to <br />the city water line anti, that -this should be done now. It was estimated <br />. 7. <br />
