Oatess. <br />Nays -None. - <br />Motion carried <br />It was suggested by a member of the audience that such information <br />could be secured from the Associated Industries. <br />`Council then considered the bads for sale of gasoline and accessories <br />from our two gasoline stations. The Clerk had given each Counci]man a <br />co~arative rundown on the bids and it was found that they were so nearly <br />identical that our 1'~ayor suggested that some sort of a fifty-fifty propo- <br />sition be entertained and thought that purchases made on a monthly bas~a:s, <br />one month at one station and next month at the other, would be a fair and <br />equitable manner of handling the matter. <br />Mr® Zahiting was asked if any action had been taken by the Safety <br />Committee on Mrm beppelm~ier°s resignation from the Fire Department. lir. <br />T+~7hiting reported that no action had been taken and the matter was tabled <br />for the time being. <br />Mayor Bndress then asked for a report from the honing Committee. <br />Mr. Swanson, reporting for the Committee, said that he had attended a <br />meeting of the school board at which Mr. Russell, the president of the board, <br />and the property owners on TnTashington Bark extension trere present. T~~r. <br />Russell reported that the School Board had purchased the Miller property <br />and no easement had been given property owners on T~jashington extension. <br />The School Board, however, ha.d offered to present a deed of a fifty foot <br />strip for a road, provided the property owners improved this portion to <br />agree tirith village specifications. Mr. Swanson stated that he would like <br />to have Council ask our engineer to prepare plans, specifications and an <br />estimate of cost of improving this strip and present it at another meeting <br />of the board and property owners. A 20 foot roadway was suggested, but <br />the school board would like a 21~ foot road, as they plan to use it as exit <br />and ingress to the proposed athletic field and Mr. Scaanson felt that they <br />would pay for the extra four feet. He suggested further that specifications <br />be obtained for •these tiro widths. ~'Ir. Swanson also asked for clarification <br />of the obligation of a corner lot facing` Ridgbu~y and adjoining tha.s <br />extension. rZr. Edelman said that this was dete~.•~nined by tree village in <br />every case. <br />Mrs. Vanone then presented to the ~'~ayor and Council ron behalf of <br />the Mayfield Grange a check for X123.00, being the profit on a supper <br />given by the Grange, the money to be used to defray expenses of new lights <br />ir_'the basement of the Town Hall. s"~ayor Bndress arose and expressed his <br />appreciation and thanks. on behalf of the Vi]~age and Cotuicil. At this <br />point, Ntr. Swanson suggestted that the Clerk write the Grange and tender the <br />thanks of Council. <br />Tyr. Strater reported that he had checked over our Tank Truck and <br />found it to be equipped with hydrauLc booster brakes which had never been <br />oiled and after freeing this equipment had been able to put it in good <br />working order.
