I'~s°® Strater reported that from tI~ minutes of the, last meeting, Council
had asked the engineer for plans and specifications for a water main to the northerly.
line of the Weisberg property and as this would leave Mr. Danner9s and a few other
houses without water, he would lily to see the water line go at least as far as
the north end of t'ne. Danner property, because people across the street had also
signed the petition but, Mr. Danner was unable•to. Our Engineer reported that the
plans and specifications asked for on SOM were held up by the water department
because of a difference of opinion as to the size of water main desired. From
the engineer's talk it seemed that nothing but an earthquake could move the
water department until they had made up their minds.
At this point NIr. Edelman gave Council a discourse on petitions and
stated that these misunderstandings gretir up over the lack of any description
accompanying petitions and that... in the future an exact description of the
territory covered should accorrmany the petition.
Tt was then moved by Mr. Strategy, seconded by Mr. Taylor, that our
engineer prepare plans, specifications.and an estimate of cost of the construction
of a water main on SOM Center Road from the northerly line of Highland Road
northerly to the North end of the Danner property.
Rol]. The cost of
X16,000.00 for paving, sidewalk, sewer and curbing for a distance of 270 feet
fora 24 foot road and' ~~11,000.00 fora 20 foot road was received by most of
Council with mingled emotions. A da.scussion o~ this matter was carried on for
a considerable time and Mr. Endress asked Mr. Branson to transmit the information
to the school board.
Our Engineer, who had been asked to report on .the condition of the
T'jayfield Sewer in writing, stated that with the granting of permits by 1~~r.
Wieland since the last meeting, any statement from him would be superfluous and
any recommendations useless.
At this point the Clerk took up the matter of our revamped Zoning
maps for the sum of 21.?a..00, saying he thought the price a little out of line
for what had been done. Tt was then moved by Mr. Oatess, seconded b-,~ Mr.
Strater, that the biL1 be .tabled until Nor.. Ga1l3.more was present and tl~ matter
could be discussed.
Rol].
