It was moved by Mr. Strater, seconded by Mr. Taylor, that the rules <br />of law requir~.ng an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions be <br />suspended. <br />Ro71 Call: Ayes - N~ssrs Swanson, Strater, Taylor, Beard & Oa.tess. <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion carried <br />Rules suspended <br />It was moved by Tyr. Oatess, seconded by Mr. Beard, that ordinance No. <br />510 be approved and passed as read. <br />Roll Call: Ayes- Messrs Swanson, Strater, Taylor, Beard & Oatess. <br />Nays -None. <br />Motion carried " <br />Ordinance passed <br />As Mayor Endress ha.d received a 1_Etter fromiMr. Sam Wellman asking <br />to extend the Wilson Mills Water Main to his property, and stating that he <br />had signed a petition at.the tune., this matter was then taken up by Council. <br />After discussion of the matter, and due .to the fact that Mr. Diamond did not <br />want water, and part of the road to the South i.s~in Gates Mi]1s, Council <br />took no action on the matter. Apropos of the petitions situation, Mr. Strater <br />suggested that in the future, any petitions presented to Council should be <br />turned over to two members of Council for checking as to names and correctness <br />of descriptive matter before being considered by Council. as a whole® Mr. <br />Edelman thought that they should be submitted to some committee to offset <br />the mistakes that were constantly cropping up. <br />Mro Zorn aslted to have it shown in the minutes that in any. plans <br />for w ater down $ON! Center a T be placed opposite Metro-Part; and asked also <br />haw long it would be before Crater could be expected.._ Nor., Demore again <br />reiterated that the ~ whole thing was in the hands of the . hater department <br />and nothing could be done until they were ready to release the plans. I`~r. <br />Demore said that he would call the Mayor whenever he received these plans. <br />A delegation from Worton Park Drive then aslted Council. what could <br />be done to secure water and paving on the undedlicated porti.on.of the road <br />fare which they were ready and will3~.g to pay. They had called out• Engineer <br />on the suggestion of Mro Endress, but had obtained. no satisfaction and we're <br />frustrated and at a loss as to how to proceed. It iras; stated by their spokesman <br />that he thought the condition of the roadbed to be in as good or better shape <br />than the declicated portion which we were now paving and .consi dering the heavy <br />traffic in trucks and building machines, i.t had held up very we710 <br />_ ,. <br />It was then moved by Mr. Beard, seconded by Mr. Swan son, that our <br />engineer check on the road base of the undedicated portion as to its condition <br />with reference to surfacing. <br />Roll Call: Ayes -Messrs Swanson, Strater,Taylor,Beard & Oatess® <br />_ Nays -None. <br />Motion cax3•ied. <br />5. <br />
