14iayor Stivanson then read a :notice from the election board, <br />giving date of registration and the location of booths in the various <br />municipalities. <br />Pdayor Si~anson reported that the tires on the police car <br />were getting smooth and that it eras dangerous to use the car in this <br />condition and new ones ~rould have to be purchased. Chief Hardman stated <br />that, in vieur of the 21,000 miles nrnv on the Tdercury, and the fact that <br />some repaS.rs would have to be made, in addition to the tires, some <br />thought by given to the purchase of a new car. He stated that for <br />X5.00 and our car a neyr 1949 Ford could be obtained, and .for. X500.00 <br />alzd our car a new I~lercury could be purchased. Illrs. Cass then introduced <br />Ordinance No. 32b entitled, "An Ordinance to Sell the automobile norm <br />used by the Police Department", which ordinance was read to Council. <br />It was moved by Ta1r. _Heiss, seconded by IUIr, Sloan, that the rules of law <br />requiring an ordinance to be road on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />Roll Calls Ayes -Messrs Franz,Hardman,Sloan,Cass &Heiss. <br />Nays -None. , <br />lUfotion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />It was moved by Mr. Hardman, seconded by Mr® Franz, that <br />Ordinance No® 3 28 be passed as read. <br />Roll calls Ayes -Messrs Franz,Hardman,Sloan,Cass &Heiss. <br />Nays - None _ <br />Notion carried <br />Ordinance passed <br />A Motion was made by Illr. Sloan, seconded by plrsm Cass, <br />that the Clerk be .authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase by <br />the Village of anew automobile suitable for use by the Polito Department. <br />Roll calls Ayes - ~lLessrs Franz,Hardman'Sloax~,Cass ~ Heiss. <br />. ldays - Vone. _. <br />Motion Carried. <br />Mayor Swanson then advised that, according to a report <br />from the Police Department, 47 arrests for traffic violations had been made. <br />29 police calls,_and 4 mutual aid calls and 1 arrest were also reported. <br />As there were no fires, no report was received from the <br />Fire Department® <br />MrSQ Cass then introduced Ordinance No® 314-P entitled <br />"An Ordinance to pay certain bills", which ordinance was read to the <br />Council. <br />2® <br />_.. <br />
