1 <br />A Public Hearing ha.d been set fox this evening at 7:30 P. M. to <br />hear the reading~of.Ordinance No. x.08. Since there were only one or two <br />citizens present at the scheduled hour, the Ordinance was read by the. <br />Solicitor, but no discussion was heard. By the hour of 9:15 P. I~4, a large <br />number of citizens had come in so in all respects to these people Mr. <br />Scheuring had the PubL c Hearing at this time, The Ordinance No. l~C~ was <br />again read by the Solicitor.. The meeting tivas opened for general discussion. <br />A number of the visitors expressed their opin_i.ons regarding the matter <br />contained in the Ordinance, and none spoke favorably of it. This was the <br />second reading of the Ordinance. <br />Mr. Scheuxing then called on Fire Chief Nelson Porter and the <br />members of the Volunteer Fire Department, who presented the Police Department <br />with a new stretcher, which will also collapse into a wheel chair for <br />carrying persons up and dovm stairs. Police Chief Jerome Dixon said a few <br />words of acceptance on behalf of the Police Department and the citizens <br />of the Village. <br />112rs. Cass moved that the Council go on-record expressing the <br />thanks of the Mayor and all the citizens for the generous donation of the <br />Fire Department. This motion was seconded by Dr. Waltz. <br />Roll Call: Ayes- 'aitaltz, Sloan, Endress, Cass and Oatess. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion Carried <br />Mr® Arnos presented a petition for a 1211 1Vater main in S0~ Center <br />Road from Wilson Mills Road north 130 past Thornapple Drive. <br />Pdr. Brenner presented a petition for an 811 water main in Bonnieview <br />Road from SOM Road, east to Beachhill Road, with signatures of 79f of the <br />property owners. <br />Resolution DTo. 206 entitled: itAn Emergency Resolution Declaring <br />the Necessity of Authorizing and Directing the Village Engineer to Prepare <br />Plans, Specifications and Estimates of Cost of an 811 Water Main in Bonnieview <br />Road from SOId Center Road to Beech Hill Roadie was introduced by Mr. Sloan, <br />which Resolution was.rea.d to Council. <br />It vras moved by Mr. Sloan, seconded by Dr. ~y°faltz, that the rules <br />of lavr requiring a Resolution to be read on three separate occasions be <br />suspended. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Waltz, Sloan,-Endress, Cass and Oatess. <br />Nays - None. <br />~Zotion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />It vras moved by Dr. ~°laltz, seconded by B~Ir.
