Mr. Edelman read an Ordinance from, the Sanitary Engineer regarding <br />Sanitary Districts for sewage disposal® ~dayor Swanson read to Council the <br />proposed Sanitary Sewer Diversion Plan, which has been drawn up by the Engineers <br />in an effort to benefit the neighboring com~~n~ties as well as our own. The <br />County is proposing to pay one half the cost of construction, the remaining <br />half to be paid by assessment bonds by the.communa.ties whose share_is in <br />proportioned amounts. Another meeting is to be held on Wednesday, Sept® 179 <br />1952, at 8,:30 P. M, a.t~the South Euclid Town Hall. All Mayors and Council <br />Members are invited to attend this meeting to. become better acquainted with <br />the proposed plan and its workings. Mayor Swanson also read a statement <br />of the Citizens League regarding the sanitary sewer condition. Council felt <br />more information-should be had before going ahead with any action on the <br />Ordinance. <br />Mr®. Edelman read the rates to connect with the city water main. <br />There is a charge of X60.00 for. either the near or far side of a dirt road, <br />$60.00 near side, a:nd X110.00 far side of a_Macadam Road, X60.00 near side, <br />aad $160.00 far side of a concrete road. Because of the two. or three months <br />time it would take the city to have the connection ditches dug9 it, 9.s <br />permissable to. have a private contractor dig the trenches as long as the <br />City is absolved of any liability. Discussion was heard regarding the type <br />ofpermit that should be issued in order that the Village, Contractor, and <br />property owner be covered against .any and all liability, <br />Mr. W. R. Dorsey, a contractor, who has already started work in the <br />Pillage, made a few remarks regarding the bond which he holds, .and which is <br />carried through a bonding company in other Villages. <br />It was decided that if an individual was assuming the responsibility, <br />he should furnish a cash bond of X150.00 to be returned at such time as the . <br />work was properly completed, or a X1000.00 Surety Bond, and be able to,shovr <br />proof that. he is covered with X100,000 X300.000 Liability Insurance. The <br />above will be covered. in a permit issued by the Village to an individual or <br />a contractor doing one or more jobs.- <br />Ordinance No. l~11~, entitled: "An Ordinance to Permit Private <br />Contractors to Connect Water Lines With Village Water. Mains" was introduced <br />by Dr. Waltz, which Ordinance was read to Councilor <br />It zvas moved by Dr. Waltz, seconded by Mrs. Cass, that the rules <br />of law requiring an Ordinance to be read oh three separate occasions be <br />suspended. <br />Roll Call: Ayes ® Waltz, Sloan, Endress., Sch®uring, Cass & Oatess. <br />Nays e None. . <br />Motion Passed <br />.
