Mr. Edelman then reported that he had prepared the Fire Arms Ordinance <br />requested by the Police Department and proceeded to read this ordinance to <br />Council. Mr. Edelman commented that he had taken this ordinance from one in <br />force in Maple Heights and had left out the misdemeanor clause f or carrying <br />concealed weapons, as it conflicted with a state law. This ordinance was then <br />turned over to the Safety Committee for study. <br />Mre Uhlir, reporting f or the Rlanning and Zoning Commission, asked Mr. <br />Sidney Kaplan to comment on the plans for Aintree Park. Plans for this develop- <br />ment were then shown to Council and studied thoroughlym Mro Edelman said that <br />as this was a plan calling for business and Multiple dwellings, a written <br />request should be submittede Mr. Uhlir said that the Commission had such a <br />request. Mr. Kaplan said that he had petitioned for re-zoning and had put this <br />on the plat, Mr: Uhlir'then-reported that the Zoning and Planning Board had <br />approved and recommended to•Council that these plans be approved. <br />Mrs. Brown, seconded by 14r, Grootegoed,-then introduced Ordinance No. 705 <br />entitled: "An Ordinance to Arnend the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Mayf ield <br />by Transferring Certain Property on the West Side of S.O.M. Center Road 'Lo a <br />Class U-3 Use District ( Apartraent House)", whicn ordinance was read to Council. <br />It was then moved by RYr. Zorn, seconded by Mr. Belzer, 'Lhat a public <br />hearing for re-zoning be held at the Town Hall at 8:00 P. M. on August 1, 1960, <br />Ro11 Ca11: Ayes - Messrs Zorn,Wedler,Bennett,Brown,Gr•ootegoed & Belzer4 <br />Nays - None. - <br />Motion carried <br />Mayor Endress also announced that Council would meet at the Town Hall <br />at 7:30 P. M. ori.July 13, 1960, to go over the budget. <br />Mayor Endress then asked Mr. Peterson for the results of his survey of the <br />Worton Park Areao <br />Mr. Peterson said that he did not have the right engineering reports - <br />with him, but would discuss the matter. The Plans called for a 12 inch water <br />line f or 2800 feet at a cost of $140,000.00. An 8 inch main, if allowed, would <br />reduce this figure by $14,000.00. A 48 inch sewer-under South and North Woodlane <br />and Norman Lane and a 44 inch by 27 inch flat sewer under Worton Park Boulevard, <br />with an 8 inch sanitary under everything, would cost $90,000.00. The paving <br />would include grading and edging. With the Culverts costing $6,300,00, the <br />total cost came to $388,000.00: Mr. Peterson said there was about six thousand <br />feet of road and 90 lots and would run about $35.00 per f oot. Mr. Edelman • <br />then asked Mr. Peterson to give Council a written report on the original <br />dedication and the new section. Mayor Endress also asked for a per foot cost <br />to the creek and from the creek. Council then entered into a lengthy discussion <br />on this matter.
