It was moved by Mrs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Grootegoed, that the <br />rules of law requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions <br />be suspended. Roll Call; Ayes - Messrs - 47edler,Bennett, Brown, Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />Nays - Nonee <br />Motion carried <br />Ru1es suspended. <br />• It was moved by Mrs. Brown; seconded by Mr. Belzer, ichat Ordinance <br />No. 716 be approved and passed as read. • - <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs-Wedler, Bettnett, Brown, Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />A4otion carried <br />Ordinance Fassed <br />Mr, Edelman then read a letter from James Plastine, Secretary of the <br />Po'lice Pension Board, asking tihat assurar.ce Policemen had that there would be <br />suFf icient funds to pay a pension when that time arrived, and what guarantee <br />they had that something would be done in case funds were not available. This <br />letter was then referred to the Finance Committee. Mr. Edelman said that he <br />would look into the matter and comment at the next meeting. <br />The Clerk tfien brought up the matter of scraping Ridgebury Boulevard, <br />wh:Lch had been carried out by Mayf ield Heights with the assurance from our - <br />Se;rvice Director that we would cover our share of the cost, As Mayfield Heights <br />had paid this bill, it was moved by Mrse Brown, seconded by Mr. Be].zer, that <br />th(a Clerk be authorized to pay Mayfield Heights f or our share of this work. = <br />Roll Calls Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett, Brown, Grootegoed and Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />• Motion carried • <br />. , ?;._. <br />The East Ohio Gas Company having asked permission to extend gas'mains- <br />in Kenwood Drive' as indicated on their plan D-8058, dated January 8, 1960, it <br />was moved by Nirs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Belaer, that permission be granted, <br />subject to property owness consent, upon approval of our engineer. <br />- Roll Call; Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett, Brown, Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />Nays - Nonem <br />Motion carried. <br />Mayor Endress then asked Mr. Bennett what hehad found out with <br />reference to the price of used pick-up trucks, Mr. Bennett said that they <br />could be obtained for $850.00 and upm The Clerk then reported,that he had.received but one bid for a new <br />poflice automobile. This bid f rom Keith Weigle Nlotors, Inc: of 20941 Euclid <br />Avenue quoted a price of $2,396020 f or a Plymouth V-8 Pursuit Special Four poor <br />2.
