Ordinance Passed <br />Mr. Edelman then said that he had checked with our Engineer and f ound <br />that his drawings and,description of the High Rise property was not correct and <br />he did not advertise for a public hearir?g on the date set. Mr. Edelman said <br />that he had rewritten the Ordinance rezoning the Cutting property and read the <br />ordinance as amended to Council. Mr. Edelman then showed a map of this property <br />prepared by our Engineer., CounciT went pver this map carefully and Mr:Edelman,; <br />stated he had prepared a suggested amended ordinance, which not only corrected <br />the legal description of the propert,y to be re-zoned in accordance with the <br />information furnished by the Village Engineer, but also provided that the re- <br />zoning shall not take place and tlie zoning map shall not be changed until <br />December 15, 1961, pr4vided there is then in full force and effect an ordinance <br />permitting Class U-3 AA Uses. This date will _be after the cestification of <br />the results of the referendum election on Ordinance No. 721, which establishes <br />sueh a use district elassification, . <br />It was then moved by Mr. Wedler, seconded. by NIr. Belzer, that Ordinance <br />Nov730 be amended as reada There was some discussion at this point on whether <br />to go ehad with this ordinance ot to table it and pass it as an emergency or regular <br />Ordinance after the referendum had been decided. . <br />? <br />Nirs. Brown then remarked thai:Mro Cutting had called her Boss and <br />said that she was biased, unfair and prejudiced; that she was in £avor of the <br />project but was being influeqced by populgr opiniono She said thzs was no <br />concern of Council, but wondered if they.wanted this kind of a man in the <br />village. Mr. Wedler said that it would be better to take the matter up at <br />this time and get the whole thing over. <br />Mr. Stannard then had words with our Solicitor and remarked that he <br />had just said that this Dtdinance c4uld be passed as an eme:qgency measure <br />after the referendum. Mr. Edelman said that he thought the ordinance c'ould <br />be passed and,both taken up on a referendum and save the village money, Mrs., <br />Brown then read an item referring to apartments that she had clipped f rom a <br />newspaper, and pointing out ,same dangers of,apartment houses. Mrm Grootegoed <br />said that he was in favor of getting this thing set-tled, Mr. Stannard.at <br />this point said that he could not agree with our solicitor on a:hypothetical <br />ordinance. <br />A vote was then taken on Mr. Wedleres Motion to Amend Ordinance <br />No. 730a <br />2.
