Mr. Grootegoed said <br />that he once owned the property now used as a state yard and had presented <br />it to Council but was turned down because they thought a Doctor was going <br />to build there. Mrs. Brown then remarked that the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission were not reasonable in this matter when they had such a tettuous <br />plan f or getting a master plan. 'There was a great deal of discussion in <br />Council on Master Plans and this rezoning'matter. <br />Mrs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Bennett, then introduced Ordinance No. <br />741 entitled, "AN ORAINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING ORDINANGE 0F THE VILLAGE <br />OF MAYFIELD BY.TRANSFBItRING CERTAIN PROPERTY ON THE WEST SIDE OF SOM CENTER <br />ROAD TO A CLASS U-4 USE DISTRICT ( CONMkRCIAL ). '' <br />It was then moved by Mr. Grootegoed, seconded by Mrs. Brown, that <br />August 28th at 8:00 P.M. be set as a hearing_on this ordinance. . <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs. Zorn, Wedler, Bennett, Brown & Grootegoed. <br />Nays - None. . . <br />Motion carried. <br />May.or Endress then remarked that at the last meeting we had dedicated <br />a road and asked our engineer for a report on the things that were yet to be <br />done on this road. Mr. Peterson had nothing to report. Mayor Endress then <br />asked £or a report on the Storm Water from Mayf ield Heights which was dump- <br />ing in back of Aintree Park. The Engineer from Mr. Peterson's department said <br />that Mr. Peterson had had an accident and he had nothing to report on this. <br />He said that there had been something done on it but could not say what.,:;Mayor <br />Endress then asked that he be given a letter on this. <br />Mayor Eadress then read a letter f rom D4r. Charles-Koerber of Kenwood <br />Builders Inc. asking that we accept the improvements of Kenwood Drive and _ <br />Thornapple Drive of Kenwood, Subdivision No. 2-A. These improveffients com- <br />pleted on June 25, 1961. Mr. Weiss said that he could not.make an inspection <br />until authorized by Council, that the pavement had been in since last June., <br />He said.that there was some of this that would have to be corrected. Mr. Zorn, seconded by Mrs. Brown, then moved that our engineer be <br />authorized to make an inspection oE'Keriwood Drive and Thornapple Drive npon <br />receipt by the Clerk of $400.00, as a deposit f or expenses. <br />Roll Ca11:.Ayes - Messrs..Zorn, Wedler,. Bennett,_ Brown and Grootegoed. <br />" Nays - None. <br />Motion carried, <br />Mrs.. Brown, seconded by Mr. Wedler, then intraduced Ordinance No. 742, <br />entitled, "An_Emergency Ordinance.Determining to Proceed_with the Improvement <br />of Worton Park Drive, Woodlane Drive, North.Woodlane Drive, South Woodlane <br />Drive and Norman Lane Drive by the Coasfiruction of Water Mains and Appurten- <br />aaces.", which ordinance was read to Council. . <br />It was moved by Mr. Zorn, seconded by Mrs. Brown, that the rules of <br />law requiring an ordinanee to.be read on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />2.
