Mr. Belzer, seconded by Mrs. Brown, then introduced Resolution No. 509 <br />entitledm- "A..Resolution to Cancel the Tnstallments of Water Main Assessments <br />For Certain Years on Parcel No. 831-24-15", which reso.lution was read to <br />Council. <br />It was moved by Nlrs; Brown,, seconded by Mr. Grootegoed, that the rules <br />of law requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Zorn,Wedler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />. Motion carried <br />Resolution Passed <br />Mr. Grootegoed, reporting f or the Safety and Service Comm:ittee,:said <br />that Fire Chief Porter had asked for some equipment to make a paimt sprayer . <br />to spray the f ire hydrants. Mr. Grootegoed then raised the question of trucks <br />parked in driveways and.other spots throughout the village and recommended <br />that an ordinance be passed to govern this. Niro Grootegoed then spoke of <br />the police unit requested by Chief Shortly and Mayor Endress asked Mr. Canf ield <br />to talk on this.subject. Mr. Canfield then spoke at length on the necessity <br />of a police unit in our village for civil defense and what it would mean to <br />the village in the sharing of government surplus. Mr. Grootegoed:then_ <br />recommended that Council establish a police unit f or civil defense and <br />adoption of a manual. <br />M r. Council and talked of the request. for .a golf courseo-Mr:..Wedler <br />said that the Ref ider Bus Company had requested the re-zoning of the Durrel . <br />Post property for a bus terminale Mr. Wedler then went on to spealc of the <br />preliminary steps.,that had.,been..taken to establish a, master. zoning plan. for <br />the Village. Mr. Wedler then read a resolution by the Zoning and Planning <br />Board approving the establishment of a golf course, Mr. Edelman then explained <br />the steps necessary in granting a special permit. Council then entered into a <br />great deal of discussion on an access road across this proposed golf course. <br />6.
