It was moved by Nirs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Grootegoed, that the rules <br />of law requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions,be • <br />suspended, . <br />Roll Call; Ayes - Messrs Zorn,Wedler,Benttett,Brown,Gro:otegoed & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. - <br />riotion carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />It was moved by Mrs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Grootegoed, that Resolution <br />No. 515 be approved and passed as read. Roll Ca11t Ayes - Messrs Zorn,Wedler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Belzera <br />Nays - None. . <br />Motion carried <br />Resolution Eassed <br />Mr. Peterson then reported that there were two ways that could be <br />employed in f ixing this pavement. One would be by removing the pavement and <br />installing new pavement. There were 15 spots to remove and 7 that should be <br />ground down. The other way would be to surf ace them with a latex that could <br />be laid doian as thin as 3/8 of an inch and be satisfactory. Mrm Peterson said <br />that this would eliminate bird baths and recommended that the builders be <br />allowed to employ this method as it would be better than removing the' <br />pavement or cutting spots out. Mro Peterson then gave a long dissertation on <br />this method and spoke of the many places he knew which had employed thi-S to <br />advantage, including the entrances to some spots on turnpikes. Mr. Wedler <br />said as this was a new and unheard of inethod to him, he was afraid that it <br />might give out and the village would be faced with fixing it. rSro Peterson <br />said that we get a year's guarantee and should have no trouble. In all this <br />discussion Mrn Peterson said again and again that we would get a better <br />street by this met.4.od and should have no troublem Mr. Peterson then <br />recommended thaNt°TW ORio Paving Company be given this job, • <br />Mr. Peterson said that in the future all pavement of cement would be <br />covered with this mater'ial, , <br />It was then moved by Mra Wedler, seconded by Mr. Belzer, that Resolution Noe 515 be amended so that upon recommendation of our Engineer, <br />Council grant permission to the owner of said subdivision to cover the streets <br />with a latex covering known as Niodified T-35 Asphaltic Latex material, approxi- <br />mately 1/2 inch in thiclcness, provided that bond be given to guarantee defects <br />for a period of one year and that this.amendment be incorporated into the <br />Resolution No. 515. . <br />It was moved by Mrs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Grootegoed, th3t the rules <br />of laca requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions be <br />suspended. <br />_ Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Zorn,Wedler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. . <br />Motion carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />4.
