Nlro DeMore was asked if he had anyth3ng froln the City on pesmission to finish the SCM Water 14aain. Mr. De More said tha.t he had heard no-L-hing from anyone in authority and Mr. Edelman ha.d no answer as yet to the let-cer he had written. Mr. Hopkins, reporting for the Bui.lding Corranittee, said that they had discussed the matter of the Totan Hall steps and decided that they wera unsaie and in need of repair in the very. near f'uturee The exterior of the builclinc, was also inspected and it was decided that the mox°tar j oints be gainted an.d the bu3lding repainted. The fronlu of the Village Ha7.1 was also insnected and it was decided to remove the old sign and trim the v3nes and shrubs and plant some slu?8aer flowers. Mr. Hopk3ns 'Uhen prasented two bids on the steps. As neither bid t,ras received on specific repair, Mayor Endress suogested that plans and specxfications be,made, as Council could'not interpret the present bidse ° The Welfare Connittee had nothing to report. Mr. strater, repor?ting for the Safety and Service Committee, discussed the Beechhill water main which the comms.ttee ha.d under advisemento `i'he Conmi3.ttee felt that i-ts first suggestion of exempting one half of the frontage on the- west-side was the best and recomnendeck that council insta7l the main on ternis f o-rmerly suggested, Vaith the Vi].l.age paying 2% and intersections, with the exception of the split lot which would be assessed for its fuL-. frontages Mr. Hopkins said that he though-t this decision wa.s the fairest that cou].d be ma.deo It was then moved by NIr. Taylor, seconded by Mr. Hopldns, tha.t our Engineer be instructed to present p].ans and specifications fos° a water main on Beech Hi7l Road, Ro11 Ca7l: Ayes - r3essrs Taylor9Wed].er,stx°ater'Brown,Falk & Hopkins. It was moved by Mr. Strater, sec onded by Mir. Hopkins, that the rules of law requi?-?ing a resolution to be read on three separate occasions be suspended.
