Nlro DeMore was asked if he had anyth3ng froln the City on pesmission to <br />finish the SCM Water 14aain. Mr. De More said tha.t he had heard no-L-hing from <br />anyone in authority and Mr. Edelman ha.d no answer as yet to the let-cer he had <br />written. <br />Mr. Hopkins, reporting for the Bui.lding Corranittee, said that they had <br />discussed the matter of the Totan Hall steps and decided that they wera unsaie <br />and in need of repair in the very. near f'uturee The exterior of the builclinc, <br />was also inspected and it was decided that the mox°tar j oints be gainted an.d <br />the bu3lding repainted. The fronlu of the Village Ha7.1 was also insnected <br />and it was decided to remove the old sign and trim the v3nes and shrubs and <br />plant some slu?8aer flowers. Mr. Hopk3ns 'Uhen prasented two bids on the steps. <br />As neither bid t,ras received on specific repair, Mayor Endress suogested that <br />plans and specxfications be,made, as Council could'not interpret the present <br />bidse ° <br />The Welfare Connittee had nothing to report. <br />Mr. strater, repor?ting for the Safety and Service Committee, discussed <br />the Beechhill water main which the comms.ttee ha.d under advisemento `i'he <br />Conmi3.ttee felt that i-ts first suggestion of exempting one half of the frontage <br />on the- west-side was the best and recomnendeck that council insta7l the main <br />on ternis f o-rmerly suggested, Vaith the Vi].l.age paying 2% and intersections, <br />with the exception of the split lot which would be assessed for its fuL-. <br />frontages Mr. Hopkins said that he though-t this decision wa.s the fairest <br />that cou].d be ma.deo <br />It was then moved by NIr.
