There was a great deal of diseussioii in Council9 as some of the members <br />fe3t that property owners might be charged un]imited.fees for these corinections <br />and some sort of supervi.sion should be made of the mattere Some of the fees <br />charged for eormecf,ions in-to the setiaer were mentioned ard, although Council <br />made no concrete suggestions, it was felt that some idea of cost shoti7_d be <br />had before passing such an ordinance. Mr. Edelman said that he did not have <br />an ord.inance ready, but could have it for the next meet3.ng. <br />Mr. Strater., reporting for the Safety and Service Cormnittee? said that <br />they advised the puxchase of a Ford Tractor f or t he Service Department 'and that <br />Herb Zorn had a 1952 txactor in g ood shape wi.th new tires on the back; -that <br />he had checked this t ractor arid it seemed to be in good shape. Mr. Strater <br />felt that Ure wou].d be safe in purchasing it and said that we could buy a <br />front end loader and scraper, for $900,00e ' <br />Council then discussed the purchase fram the point of view of keeping <br />our roads in shape and mentioned that Metro Drive was kept in good condition <br />with this type of equi.pment. Mr. 4Jieland was asked how much he cou3d do with <br />this tractor. Mr. Wieland said that it -vould not replace heavy equipment <br />and he would have to have heavy equipment for some 3obs, but that it could be <br />used5 once the raads were scraped to keep thFm in shape. Mr. Wieland went on <br />to say that there were iniwmerable ways in which he could use this tx°actor and <br />mentioned keeping snow from the corners as one way. <br />N1r. Strater, seconded by Mr.eHopkins, then introduced Resolution No.421 <br />ent,i.tled:• "A Resolution Authori.zing the Purchase of a Used Ford.
