Mr. Strater then reported that we had t,o fix up the Dump Truck. He <br />said that -L•here was nothing serious, but a lot of little things needed fixing <br />and it would cost about $65-00 to $100000. Mr. S trater then warned that <br />Council should be thinking of some means of securing a new truck next year. <br />Mr. S trater saia that Mre Wieland was concerned with going ahead trith these <br />repairs wi-thout Councilts approvale nIt was also reported that the truck had <br />over 60'000 miles on it. Kr. Taylor said that if this lev,y f ailed, it wou;.,d <br />discontiriue our rubbish and garbage pick ups and possibly our street lights. <br />Mr. Taylor went on to point out that this vras not a neVJ levy' but t,he cantiriuation <br />of a previ.ous -.levy and not only that, but it tras a reduction from the former <br />levy we used for operating pta.z-poses, Mr. Taylor said that he wouZd like to <br />get out a flyer notif'ying everyone of its inrportanceo <br />1"Ir. peterson reported that the ditching on Worton Park had been delayed <br />because of driveway pipes and the contractors were unable to complete their <br />job of paving. NIr. Peterson 1.isted 10 homes needing driveUray pipes and said <br />-Lwo had since fourid their pipes. Nr. Wielaid said that he had told these <br />-people they must have their drivewaJ pipes wi.thin a day or two; that some <br />had no-t done this; that the Worton Park Association should handle thiso Mre <br />Peterson said that the O1Nei1 Company was waiting word on. these pipes before <br />conti.nui.ng. Mayor Endress then asked Mr. Wieland -to check on this matter again., <br />Mayor TJndress then read a report from T2ro Peterson on Robley Lane. <br />Mr. Peterson requested the follotaing work be donet A11 ditches to be we11 <br />below the edge of the navement even though it requires ditching across existing <br />lawns, especiaZly on Ravine Drive opposite Robley T,ane. Provide an ou-tlet <br />ditch and easement at the east end of Ravine Drive. Remove and repl.ace bad <br />area in the paverc!ent9 pu-t asphalt and chi.ps on snots needing sealing. Excavate. <br />dit,ch to proper distance from pavement on the south side of Ravine Drive. <br />Repair damaged catch basin wall. Mr. Peterson said that.he would make fu-r ther <br />iizspect.i.on after this work was completed. Mr. Robley was asked if thcs work <br />had been eompleted. and said that it was not quit;e filli.shed; that it would <br />take several days. 14r, Robley then complained of people driving over the <br />ditches and Mr. Wielancl said we had an ordinance that a driveway zras -to be put <br />in first. Mayor Lndress said that if Mr. Robley saw anyone,doing this to <br />notify the police and it would be s-toppea. <br />May-or-Endress then read a lettei• from M.r."Peterson, reporting on the <br />low bid on SOM Voo 5 ZATater Main, There were -si.-, bids on this construction <br />work, the 1ovaest being the N. W. Zupo Construction Company for $29,107.10. The <br />bids were quite close, the highest being $30,810.00. Nlro Peterson reconm?ended <br />that the contract be awarded to the low bidder and said he was fami.liar with <br />their work and it was satisfactory. <br />3.
