It was moved by Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Sloan, that Resolution No. <br />663 be approved and passed as read. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Bennett, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None: <br />Motion carried <br />Resolution Passed <br />Mr. Belzer, reporting for the Safety and Service Committee, said that Mr. <br />Shortle had requested that consideration be given to the construction of side- <br />walks on SOM Road to Wilson Mills Road; that the children in winter were either <br />forced to walk in the road or walk through the drifts le£t by snow plows. Mr. <br />Belzer said that the Safety Committee recommended that legislation be started <br />f or these sidewalks. Mayor Endress recommended that this matter be turned over to the Engineer <br />and let him come up with something. It was then moved by Mr. Walker, seconded <br />by Mr. Belzer, that our Engineer be authorized to.handle this matter. <br />Roll Ca11: Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Bennett, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Mr. Belzer also said that Mr. Shortle had asked about the status of the <br />Wilson Mills sidewalks East of SOM Roado Mr. Peterson said that f rom the <br />survey they had taken this would be a pretty costly project; that we did not <br />even knoNv where the center line of the road would be, nor when the County <br />planned to widett this road, Mayor Endress then asked Mr. Peterson to f ind <br />out what the County planned on doing on Wilson Mills Road. <br />Mr. Sloan then asked about signs on Sandalwood. These signs have <br />been installed. <br />Tt was then brought out that Mr. Anderson of The Ohio Bell Telephone <br />Company had recomnended that one phone in the Town Hall be removed and installed <br />in the Service Garage. The •phone was immediately taken f rom the Clerk"s Office, <br />leaving him with no phone. <br />Mr. Belzer then took up the matter of phasing out some of the Police <br />Radios and using them f or the Service Department. Estimates of costs were <br />given to each Councilman, but, as the Village was short of funds at this time, <br />no action was taken. <br />Mr. Belzer also said that the Safety and Service Committee recommettded <br />that Jacks be purchased for the Service Department so that they could change <br />oil in the cars. It was then moved;-:by M s. Belzer, seconded by Mr. Shaw, <br />that the Service Department be authorized to purchase Jacks f or the sum of <br />$170.00. : <br />It was moved by Mr. Sloan, seconded by Mr. Walker, that the rules of <br />law requiring a resolution to be read on three separate occasions be suspended. <br />2.
