Mr. Glallcer, seconded by Mr. Busa, moved to purchase the fire hydrant <br />pump at $71.50. , <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Busa, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Davis. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Mr. Sloan reported that the Cemetery Committee would be.meeting on. <br />Thursday, January 20, 1966, . tL? -' <br />Mr. Busa announced that he and Mr. Plastine, the Civil Defense Director <br />for the Village, had contacted Mr. Cowden, -the County Civil Defense Director. <br />Mr. Busa stated that D4r. Plastine will attend a Civil Defense School for'a <br />period of six weeks and that a more fruitful report would be made at,a later date. <br />Mayor Bennett then said that a Civi1 Defense meeting will_be held in <br />Columbus on January 29, 1966, and that he, Mr. Busa, and Mr. Plastine will,?.attend. <br />Mayor Bennett proceeded to announce that Mr. Plastine was sworn in as <br />Civil Defense Director of the Village and Miss Dorothy Howes was sworn in as <br />Clerk of the Mayor's Court. ,_ <br />Mayor Bennett introduced a letter f rom Mr. Walter Rogers regarding an <br />electric calculator that Mr. Rogers offered to,purch.ase f or $25.00,,. <br />Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Walker, moved that the Council accept Mr. <br />Rogers' off er of $25.00 to purchase the calculator, for which the Village <br />has no use. <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Niessrs Shaw, Busa, Walker, Mason, Sloan'&'Dav.is <br />Nays - None. <br />A4otion carried <br />Mayor Bennett instructed the Clerlc-Treasurer to advise Mr. Rogers that <br />the Council will accept his off er. <br />Nlayor Bennett then introduced a letter from the tiJelcome L7agon Inter- <br />national, and ref erring to the letter, Mayor Bennett stated that the Glelcome <br />Wagon had submitted $46.37 as a gift to be used for fire and police equipment <br />only.• Mayor Eennett requested the Clerk-Treasurer to write a letter of thanks <br />to the Welcome Wagon, Mr. Mason suggested that the money be placed in a <br />general fund..to purchase equi.pment, for, the Fi,re Dep.artment, and the Police <br />Department at a later date. <br />Mayor Bennett stated that he would like to hire a part-time Janitor <br />for the Village Hall. The Janitor would work a maximum of twenty hours per <br />week at $1.75 per hour to start, until the Village Hall is in pretty clean <br />condition.
