Mr. Mason, reposting for the <br />Arehitectural Board, said that they had had one meeting on October 25, 1962, <br />that he did not have the report of this with him. Mayor Endress asked if there <br />was -any decision on the Van Garen plans, Mr. Mason said that he was not there <br />and could not saya <br />There was nothing to report from the Welfare Cotomittee. <br />Mr. Belzer, reporting for the.Safety and Service Committee, then read a <br />letter from Arthur Grootegoed saying that due to busiaess commitments he-was <br />forced-to resign from the Safety and Service Committee. It was moved bq Mr. <br />Wedler, seconded by Mr. Bennett, that this resignation be accepted. <br />Roll call: Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett, Shaw, Mason, Sloan and Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Besignation Accepted <br />,_ . . <br />Mr. Belzer then reported that,Mr. Briggs had raised the question.in <br />comnittee of the safety of. the children in. crossing from North to the South side <br />of°Wilson Mills Road; that the Westbound buses dropped the children on the <br />wrong side of the road and they then had to cross Wilson Mill:s Road; fihat they <br />had invited Mr. Falhaber,of the Mayf ield Schools to be present and he.had agreed <br />to find some solution by letting the bnses go to Lander Road and back and then <br />uMloading on Wilson Mills Road. Our PoZice_Chiefsaid that they had worked out <br />a solutioa, but he did not know what a.t was. Mr. Belzer then reported that <br />Chief Porter and Chief Shortle had asked that Thorciapple Drive be dedicated <br />so that it could have one aame. They said that when they were called to this <br />area, they did not know wMere they were going; that they would like to have <br />the street all one name. Couneil thea had,quite a discassion on this matter, <br />but did not arrive at a solution. Mr. Tdelman said that it would be better <br />to get these streets dedicated and then pass legislation; that it was a bad <br />time to do it at present. Mr. Poster had again asked about using No. 2 pumper <br />for mntual aid; the Mapor and the Service Committee agreed that Mr. Porter <br />could use No. 2 pumper when he felt it was necessary, provided that No. 1 <br />puipper was adequate for Village protection. . . <br />Mr. Edelman was then asked if he had done anqthing about the..Boundary <br />Line between Highland-Heights and our Village. Mr. Edelman said that he had. <br />talked with the Solicitor of Highlatad Heights, but he was siek and he had not <br />been able to,talk with him since. Mayor Endress then said.that he had checked <br />with,Mayor Baris who said that he was going to have it up before Council.on <br />Tuesday. Coancil then agreed that it would be very desirable if Northbound <br />could be ours and Sonthbound could be Highla,nd Heights. <br />2.
