r4ayor Endress then aslced f or reports from the Committees. Mr. Niason, <br />reporting for the Architectural Board, said that they had met on iMarch 28, <br />1963, and approved two sets of plans and looked over several others' and also <br />received revisions as submitted for the Van Curen Apartments, The Board also <br />met on April 11, 1963, and Niro Mason then talked of the Van Curen Apartments <br />and showed artists• renderings of these apartments. There was a great deal <br />of discussion in Council on garage doors, as these apartments did not have <br />doors on one of the garageso ? Mayor Endress then read a letter f rom Mrso Thomas Z. Blackburn, <br />complimenting us on the care of our streets during the winter. <br />Mr. Bennett reporting f or the Building Committee said that lights <br />have been ordered for the parking lots and that the doors on the Fire Station <br />were going to be taken care of right away. <br />Mr. Wedler said that the Zoning and Planning meeting had been postponed <br />to the 29th of April. ' <br />Mr. Belzer, reporting £or the Safety and Service Committee, said that <br />they had met on April lst, 1963, and Mr. Shortle? had asked f or no parking <br />signs on Wilson Mills East'of I,ander Road. The Service Bepartment will <br />purchase signs at $2 each. Mr. Shortle also asked that the Police Ambulance <br />be checked, as numerous repairs were needed and it was hardly worth while to <br />put so much money in the car. This was ref erred to the Finance Committee. ' <br />It was recommended at this time that all circles at dead-end streets be <br />checked for size to allow trucks to get around them. <br />Chie£ Porter asked to purchase Indian Fighters for brush f ires at a <br />cost of $180. 00. Mr. Wieland asked for a scarif ier for the tractor and this was also <br />passed over to the Finance Committee. • <br />Mr. Belzer then brought out the fact that the Building Committee had <br />been asked to checlc a house whieh 'had been,moved onto a lot on Iiighland. Road', <br />Plans for a Breeze-way and garage were to be ad'ded. The house is now up f or <br />sale and these plans have not been completed. This will cause problems f or <br />a purchaser. Mr. Edelman said that a copy of these conditions shoul'd be <br />nailed onto the house so that prospective purchasers could see the conditions. <br />Mayor Endress then read a letter from Chief Porter, asking that Alfred <br />Goetz be removed from the Fire Department, as he did not now live in the <br />Village. Mayor Endress then recommended that Council accept the Chief's <br />request on the ground that he has moved from the Village and a letter sent <br />showing appreciation for his work. <br />Tt was moved by Mr. Benttett, seconded by Mr. Shaw, that Mayor Endress, <br />recommendation be approved and Mr. Alfred Goetz be removed f rom the Fire <br />Department. All members of Council voted ayem Motion.carried. <br />It was moved by Mre Bennett, seconded by NIr. Shaw, to advertise for bids <br />£or the.purchase of a new Station Wagon f or the Police Department and for the <br />sale of the 1960 Station Wagon owned by the Village. 7.
