Ro11 Call: Ayes - Messrs Bennett, Shaw, Mason, Sloan and Belzer.
Nays - None.
- Motion carried
Rules Suspended
It was moved by Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Mason, that Ordinance No.
805 be approved and passed as read,
Roll Calls Ayes - Messrs Bennett, Shaw, Mason, Sloan and Belzer.
,
Nays - None. Motion carried
. Ordinance Passed
' Mr. Koerber then turned over to the Clerk the sum of $200,00 to make
the necessary repairs to Kenwood Roado Our Engineer said that he would:contact
a company that puts Apoxie Resin and that we could tar the cracks.
Mayor Endress then reported that he had another proposition on Lander
road; that -he had talked with Mr. Dollard, who said that due to other plans not,
materializing there was a chance that Lander Road could be on their paving
program f or 1964 and made a rough estimate of around 20 to 25 thousand dollars
and would be put in on the basis oF 25-75e Mra Endress said that Mr. Dollard
wished to know if we were interested in it. Lander is to be;a three lane
highway and the whole cost would run around $200,000.00. Council said that
they were interasted aad the county should give us something in writing and
some details of what they were going to do.
Mr. Belzer then reported on a meetiag with Mayf ield Heights on the
possibility of the four municipalities getting together on an antenna for the
Fire Department Radios. Mr. Belzer said that he had received no comanent f rom
Highland Heiohtso Mr. Belzer. said that rIayfield Heights was interested and
spoke of a cost of $30.00 per month for an antenna and they would have it
installed; that they wese installing the tower now. There is also a main-
tenance cost, which they would assume; they would also have telephone service
so that we could talk through the tower to any car. Mr. Belzer ended by
saying that they felt that it was a good idea and he did, tooe .
Mayor Endress said that right now we were in an enviable position,
that we had someone to man a bay station 24 hours a day, but this could go on
f orever and, if it ends, we would be f aced with noth-ing. By going in wii:h
Niayf ield Heights it gives us something to tie to so that you do have facilities
and man power. Mr. Belzer again remarked that this was a good route to go;
at this timeo There was a great deal of discussion in Council on this matter,
with Mr. Bennett declaring that we should have Mr.. Wiece and put the Bay
Station at our telephone answering service location, Mrm Bennett said that
all we were doing was replacing something that we already had a,nd that the
Village did not even pay for that. Council also argued over the matter from
an investment point of view, considering the cost of the.tower versus the
cost of a monthly rate from Mayfield Heights. However, as our bid was a
package cost, Council did not know exactly what the difference would be.
It was then nioved by Mr. Bennett, seconcled by Mr. Belzer9 that the
rules oE law requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions
be suspended with seference to Ordinance No. 802; ."An Ordinance to Purchase
6.
