This bill was turned over to the Finance Committee. <br />Mr. Sloatt, seconded by Mr. NSason, then introduced Ordinance No. 837 <br />entitled: •"An Ordinance Authorizing the Building Ittspector and Service Director <br />and the Village Engineer to Approve'Applications of the East Ohio Gas Company <br />to construct Gas Mains and Service in the Village of Mayfield, Ohio," which <br />ordinance was read to Council. Mayor Endress <br />said that the Gas Company followed a set formula and was not known to deviate <br />from this and he was afraid that if gas was obtained in this area the residents <br />would have to pay for the vacant property between the homes. <br />Mr. Belzer then reported a large hole on SOA4 Road where the Gas <br />Company had been working and aslcec3 that they be called'and notified to fill <br />this hole. <br />Mr. Belzer, rep,orting f or the Safety and Service Committee, said that <br />Chief Shortle had discussed with them the desire of the County Sheriff to <br />patrol the Freeway and assess the villages f or this service. Our share would <br />amount to about $440.00 per month. Nir. Shortle then gave Council a detailed <br />account of the meeting that he attended on the subject and said that none of <br />the villages were in favor of such a thing at this proliibitive cost.' This <br />would sti11 leavethe village in the position of taking care of all accidents <br />and fires and other things th.at happened on the Freeway in their territory. <br />9.
